Imagine if you will had George Bush been part of an organization who secretly voted on whether or not to assasinate any number of members in congress who supported Roe v. Wade decision in 1973... can you imagine the outrage?

Unless he's being coy, Limbaugh undercut the story somewhat by not pointing out that Kerry was under some (at least moral) obligation to report this discussion to the authorities.
Also, it gives me a bit of a kick that the "seven Senators" thing has now become an accepted fact. Actually, I mis-typed in my original report, and DuBose only mentioned six Senators.
But it is sort of like a watermark, to see where all of this came from, if you know what I mean. LOL

Who cares. This is really old news & if there was anything there the FBI would have acted on it years ago. A fruitless pursuit - just like trying to discredit his medals from VN.

Heard it and also heard an ABC minute on the radio this morning (KSFO - San Francisco) mention this and Kerry's FBI files.
Then they returned to the KSFO morning show and went into a riff about Andrea Mitchell saying Hillary wants the VP slot.
LOL! Thought I was listening to Free Republic instead of reading it!

Here's what I find really revealing - how is this story any less pertinent (I'd actually say it's more) than the bogus "Bush AWOL" story that the mainstream partisan media beat the crap out of (and still are in some places)?
I hestitated to even bring up this point because the "liberal media" issue has been beat to death elsewhere, but sometime one just can't hold one's tongue. The lack of coverage this issue is receiving in comparison to the AWOL story IS A DISGRACE!

You are slowing down. I beat your thread by four minutes. :)
Note: some people believe that I don't have a real job. I really do. Really.

Great Work!!!
I have ben following this story and trying to gather other info, but it all seems to be "repeats".
One thing bugs me though, and I still haven't seen this really discussed in full anywhere.
I have seen this quote a fews times:
Mr.Camil speaks of his plan for an alternative to Mr.Kerrys idea of symbolically throwing veterans medals over the fence onto the steps of the Capitol during the Dewey Canyon III demonstration in Washington in April of 1971.
My plan was that, on the last day we would go into the [congressional] offices we would schedule the most hardcore hawks for last and we would shoot them all, Mr. Camil told the Oral History interviewer. I was serious.
my problem is - all of the discussion centers around the November meeting and not that Camil's [original] plan was designed for April 71, not December 71 (as was supposedly voted on in November 71).
What happened to the original plan? Was it tabled for later?
If it was an alternate plan to Kerry's (a primary organizer), when was it presented? Wouldn't Kerry have known about it?
I believe Kerry knew about this for a long time and that his resignation from the group had more to do with personal differences with Al Hubbard than with ideology - he still remained a spokesman well into 72 and maybe 73.
Furthermore - HE WAS STILL A COMMISSIONED OFFICER! Kerry did not resign his commission until 1978. Even if that commission was in the inactive reserves - he was still bound by the laws which pertain to officers of the United States.

I've been saying for a couple of weeks now that there is a serious power struggle going on in the Dem party. We've got news being reported that the Clinton admin could have gotten Bin Ladden. And news being reported that Kerry was in a group that wanted to kill senators. I'd bet money that Bush isn't releasing all of this, because the press would not report it if he was.

Rush, unfortunately, preaches to the choir. If this is broadcast on CNN and the networks then it is useful. The best thing that could happen is if congress examines this issue. Oh, that can't work because of power sharing. Republican wimps!
This is a feel-good issue for those who dislike Kerry and no more.

Imagine an independent ad that ran like this:
"George Bush was a member of a secret organization, one that actively discussed the assassination of US Senators during the 1970's. Why didn't you hear about this?
WHY?
Because it isn't true. It wasn't George W. Bush. It was John F. Kerry that was a member of this organization.
Beware the Partisan Media."
To: doug from upland
If this was a Republican candidate, then there is no doubt in my mind that the Media and press would be all over it.
