We can't make it, but if there is a fundraiser or if I can help from a distance please let me know.

Is this Million American March still going on? How well was the planning for it? A great idea! Anyone in contact with them yet?

No I do not believe at this point the Million American March is still going on. They are regrouping and organizing other events. You might want to visit their website, e-mail them and see if they are on the same page as to what you want to organize. Seems to me we gotta have the same agenda to merge.
Some times different leaders have different ways of seeing things but it would certainly be worth a try.

I would like someone to be in charge of finding space for people in the apartments of friendly Republicans. Anyone want to volunteer?

How about the NYC firemen? I'll bet they support Bush! Would they march with us?

Sadly, mostly anyone associated with unions have aligned themselves with the Kerry crowd. I seriously doubt they would.

The national firemen's union has been taken over by the Dems, but I'm not so sure about NYC, where they lost so many of their members to 9/11.

They don't usually come and stand with us at our pro-troop rallies, but they do drive by several times in their fire engines and cheer us on. It's very heartening.

It was Cacique who made sure all the fire houses knew about our rally on March 23, 2003, and maybe he will do that again for the convention rally.

Linda Chavez's book, Betrayal, will tell the disgraceful tale of what the Dems have done to the unions in the past ten years (mostly).

I'll ping my Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island lists to this thread. Perhaps many New England FReepers will be in the NYC area for the convention.

I second the recommendation about reserving hotel rooms early. I think it was during soccer or something a few years back but hotels in NJ were booked and this sometimes was as far as 40-50 miles from Manhattan.
