MIAMI (AP) -- A 5-year-old boy took a bag of marijuana to school and was sprinkling it over a friend's lasagna like oregano when a monitor intervened, police said.

The lasagna was confiscated before the other boy had a chance to eat it Monday in the cafeteria at Gratigny Elementary School.

Indianapolis police said Tuesday they were still seeking the boy's parents, Kenneth Lee Green, 24, and Andrea D. Jackson, 23

Where's the boy staying if his parents are gone? It sure does say something about them that they would run away and strand their kid(s).

But oregano DOES smell similar to marijuana when burned. We used to burn oregano in the bathrooms in high school just to freak out the teachers;^)

'Cause your mommy told you it was worth $10,000?

No wonder his mother's brownies sell for $5/piece at the bake sale.

I ate a handful of MaryJane in the middle hills of the Himalayas where it grows as a weed into hedgerows. Nothing happened, other than an upset stomach. You have to heat it beyond 400 degrees, which is why smoking and brownies work. Lasagne is unlikely to be hot enough from the chafing dishes to cause any effect.

His parent prolly keep the stuff in plain site at the bedside. Bet the parents chuckle when they call it "oregano" around little Johnny.

When my son was in grade school, there were kids in his class who brought bags of marijuana to school to deliver to other students to take home to their parents. The children were quite open about it. One of the boys could be seen making deliveries on his bike after school as well. He always had his little sister in tow, as well.

Agreed. Eating plain old marijuana has no effect other than nausea. And that's on adults... a 5 year old kid? Probably would need his stomach pumped depending on the amount sprinkled.

Can't imagine this kids mom was too happy with his wastefulness.

In the past day the value of the crack that kid had has gone from $4,000 to $7,000 to $10,000.

Remind me to buy some coca futures.

Brownies are baked around 250 F; perhaps your brain was already fried.
