Mansoor Ijaz is taking this personally and I like it.
I'd love to also here Dennis(?) Ross' take on this since he confirms Mansoor's version of Osama being offered to Clinton by the Sudan.

Mort Kondracke said today on Brit Hume's show that he spoke with Dennis Ross today and Ross feels Clarke is a truthful guy and is "going to wait to read the book" before making up his mind on it...
I dunno, based on what I've read today alone, there are so many holes in Clarke's tale, and so many questions raised by his comments and by what he's *not* talking about, I don't think it would be too hard to size up Clarke without reading his book first.

Also, this proves (to me at least) that our federal government is just too large and no President is really in charge. If these types of decisions had to go through so many bureaucratic levels of BS in the companies where I was in charge, heads would have rolled as I fired the idiots.
It also shows, as we all know, that Madeline Albright was totally unqualified for the position of Sec. of State and an incompetent moron. She still is.

Ross is a liberal Clinton loving moron but has credibility. I'm sure, just like most Democrats, he's going to "measure" his response once he "reads the book".
Total cop out. He himself has said on Fox News that the Sudan offered Osama on a silver platter to Clinton.
I really hate these bureaucratic pinheads.

he has chosen to characterize the Bush White House as indifferent to the threat posed by Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda network prior to the September 11 attacks without consideration for the failures on his watch during the Clinton years. Not just failures on this watch, but his personal failures. Clarke was the guy who was convinced that we should be concentrating all of our anti-terrorist preparations on our enemies' ability to conduct a "cyber war" against us. "Blood and guts" terrorism was too .....20th century for him to waste his time with. .....And he then convinced an equally idiotic Clinton that his position was sound.
So, if Clarke has a conscience at all, it must be pretty heavily weighted down with the deaths of 3000+ Americans hanging on it. And I suspect his "blame (Bush) game" is an attempt to relieve himself of that guilt. ......and to fill his wallet, of course.

Yeah, it seems Mr. Clarke was under the impression that he could say just whatever he wanted about the Administration as an "expert." I guess he forgot there were other experts who also had memories who would discuss his role as a counter-terrorism "expert" during a whole series of terriorist attacks on the US?

It is becoming clear that we have a rudderless state that is no more competent in foreign policy than in domestic policy. This should come as no surprise. As our socialist system keeps intervening in domestic affairs that individuals should be accepting responsibility for, the problems increase. Applying these same principles in foreign affairs does not work any better. We have a raft of foreign interventions that have been disastorous.
As they multiply, the problems get worse just as in domestic policy. The United States does not have a monoply on geniuses that have the wisdom to solve everybody's problems. We continue to muddle along, wasting our resources as well as creating havoc, domestically as well as foreign. The clock will finally stop when the economy falls in the hole and we become a third-world debtor nation with no means to support our grand designs.

Let's put it like this: if Richard Clarke were a doctor, the AMA would have been forced to pull his license to practice medicine as the result of the high number of patient deaths due to his incompetence.
Holding onto a government job for 30 years does NOT make one an "expert", IMO, it just makes one too lazy and too much of a brown noser to look for another job. This guy is NOT to be trusted.

What a ridiculous comment! Bush has been masterful. He remained cool when the rest of the world--led by the media--thought we'd lose the war in Afghanistan. He then went on to destroy a truly evil regime, freeing 25 million people by means of one of the most humane wars in history, and is now engaged in changing the political dynamics of the Middle East forever. He has turned the economy around, no thanks to the Democrats. Along the way he has won both the House and the Senate for the G.O.P. in the midterm elections. So naturally, for all these reasons, and because he is at odds with the European left, he is hated by the left in this country as well. So be it.
To: kattracks
Lets face it, this guy is taking revenge, he was demoted by the administration and didn't like it so now the bad mouth.

One of the things Clarke is saying is that after 9/11 the Bush whitehouse focused on Iraq instead of Afghanistan. I guess he's saying we should have invaded Afghanistan first...

I totally agree with you. Now if you can tell the Socialists that are trying to take over to get the F**k out and stop trying to ruin this country, maybe we we can continue to bring this country back from eight years of Clinton's failed social, economic and foreign relations policies.
