As far as I know, the "no church bells" policy was written into the KFOR bylaws and rights and responsibilites from the start. Not the fault of that particular contingent of Greek KFOR's...
One good thing I caught on NPR news this afternoon. The cleaning lady herself, dear sweet little stumpy Madeline, was up before the 9/11 commision. She said something along the lines of "well, what you have had us do [about Al-Qaeda], start tossing bombs around willy-nilly -- without any provocation -- like handfulls of paper confetti, or rice at a wedding, contravening all norms of international law..."
And some senator (I didn't catch who it was), said, 'no, you actually *did* do that, but why was Kosovo the target, rather than Afghanistan?' (Or something like that... I was at work and missed half of it.)

"...Then the church bells will ring and the sky at night illuminated by burning mosques..." But that's no good... Then we'd be just like them. New Boss same as the Old Boss... How do you de-program 1.1 billion Sumerian Lunar Deity re-invented, re-born and marketed as "monotheism" cultists?

Sorry for posting an old article, but I don't believe it's been posted before because I did a search for "church bells" and this article didn't come up.
KFOR and UN are the same thing, KFOR is under the jurisdiction of the UN. I put UN in the title instead of KFOR because many people don't know what KFOR is, so it's simpler to just refer to them as the UN.

No, KFOR is not under the jurisdiction on the UN. It is under the jurisdiction of NATO. Same as IFOR/SFOR in post-Dayton BiH.
As I said, an old article is fine, and it's an interesting one. I'm glad you posted it. Just warn readers that it's old.

And some guy's canterwauling with a microphone from a tower isn't bothersome at all? My thoughts exactly.

Coming to a town near you and I? I think this is a canary in the coal mine. We should beware.
