UN forbids use of church bells in Kosovo (because they irritate the muslims)

Priest Velimir Stojanovic, who lives with his family in the churchyard of the Serbian Orthodox Church of St. Sava in the southern part of Kosovska Mitrovica, told Tanjug that the Greek soldiers protecting this shrine have forbidden the use of the church bells.
"Representatives of KFOR introduced this ban with the explanation that Orthodox church bells irritate the Albanians," says Father Velimir. "The last time the bells were heard was on Easter Sunday, April 15 of this year," he explained, adding that so far he has not publicized this ban because he thought it was temporary. "The church bells did not ring on Ascension Day (Spasovdan, May 25) and I think that this is not good for either the church or the people," said Father Velimir.
Every day, five times a day, the song of the muezzins from the minarets of three mosques in the southern, Albanian part of the town can be heard. A fourth mosque is open and undisturbed in the village of Zabari, near Kosovska Mitrovica.

"Representatives of KFORThat must be a typo because I thought it was supposed to say *weenie-cowardly-run-and-hide* representatives of KFOR.

I've changed my mind. I initially thought the war was purely ethnic and the Albanians were just looking for the right to live. I was WRONG.
They've been subsumed into the garbage that is Ilsam. Get KFOR out of there and into the Sudan to protect Christianss from being slaughtered (nearly 10 million in the last decade), let the Serbs in and let them take over Albania proper and Bosnia too and give them a choice -- convert to Christiantiy (Orthodox, Catholic, whatever) or be deported. The only way to combat the disease that is islaam is radical surgery -- chop off the diseased parts

Our military is there for show we can't use it without backing down after PC protest.
But that's OK.
In 300 years American culture will have totally subjugated Islam through sheer power of economic empowerment and ascendancy of freedom everywhere. Reform is coming to the radicals and they know it.
Hence their desperation.

I really wonder if the Greeks were attempting to protect the church and didn't want the Muhammedans to get excited about the bells since the Greeks know what this would lead to.
Let the Serb army return to establish law and order!

Shame on you, Seselj. First, the original headline was "KFOR forbids..." not "UN forbids...". I suppose you wanted the article to get noticed by all the UN-bashers on FR, but it was dishonest of you.
Second, while it's fine to post old news bits, one should correctly date them (not everyone clicks on the link, you know). As joan pointed out, this article is from May 2001.

BTW, I added NATO and KFOR to keywords. Too bad there's no option to delete keywords, as UN doesn't belong there.

Could it be a plum? Are these pig roasts known to be done with plums?

The UN building in NYC is an irritating eyesore: can we do something about that?
Replacing it with a Wal-Mart Supercenter would be a nice touch.

I didn't even have to read the article to know that silenced church bells wouldn't be met with a balance of telling the Muslims to shut up their daily blasts.Yeah. Me neither.

The UN will not be there forever--The US will not be there forever and PC will someday be seen as the awful joke it is.
Then the serbs will be back and it will be payback time. Then the chruch bells will ring and the sky at night illuminated by burning mosques.

A UN flag? I can't tell but you could print one, not the real thing but it's the idea that counts!

The UN building in NYC is an irritating eyesore: can we do something about that?
Since the UN building is basically the only building left in Manhattan where one can smoke with near impunity, why not just rent out office space there to smokers. Send those pesky UN representatives to live and work, oh.. In the Bronx or perhaps Queens.
The UN will get an extra billion or so a year to spend on pet projects, and the extra travel time should keep them out of everyone's hair for a while.

I suppose that the 5 times daily call to prayer is de rigeur and a-ok with the UN. No irritation there, only bells irritate. Ri-ight. Next the Crosses and Crucifixes will offend (if they don't already), but the veil and the crescent moon is all good. They are headed the way of Afghanistan (prior to our assistance in liberating them)- or Saudi Arabia, all burqas and closed society and harsh laws. Only there weren't really many Christians and Jews in Afghanistan, so that will be a problem for Kosovo. Oh, wait, so far not a problem, what with the forced migration and all being used right now on the 'infidels'. How can EU continue to turn a blind eye to their own Muslim problem and their neighbors the Serbs and other non-Muslims in Kosovo? How much bending over backwards to appease can they do? Do they really think they will avoid the Kosovo solution situation in their own near future??
