Matt Reilly, also known as 'harpseal' on Free Republic, died on March 19, 2004.
His friend Eileen is making arrangements for a Memorial service at the local VA.
Matt was a former Navy SEAL, a keen businessman, a friend to his Walker Hound, and an accomplished sailor.
He was also my friend and my business partner. I can't barely see the keyboard through my tears. He will be missed greatly.

Harpseal was an extremely knowledgeable military freeper.
His insights will be sorely missed.
God rest his soul.

How horrible.
This is sad. I trust that he is in a much better place enjoying heaven.

My deepest sympathy. Harp was also a PATRIOT, and a compatriot--unusual these days.
I recall our conversation and your enthusiasm about his work with you.
May God grant him eternal rest.

In silent tribute we stand all.
Another Warrior has received The Call.
In the Bye and Bye when we shall meet,
With tears of joy each shall greet
With extended condolences

What a great loss.
Harpseal had a truly unique "voice" in his posts. We that did not know him in person still knew that a patriot with sincere beliefs was offering his best and strongest thoughts. That voice will be stongly missed.
His family and freinds have the biggest loss to deal with however, and we send to you and them our prayers and comfort during this time.
To: Lazamataz
I am so very sorry to hear this.

Somewhere in the first 200 posts a FReeper observed that 'his family is only fellow FReepers.'
It's a tribute to Harpseal AND to FR that over 600 posts have mourned him.
What a family!

Our condolences to all who knew and loved him. As this tribute thread attests, he will be missed by many. Now that his service is complete on Earth, may his soul rest in peace with the Lord.

This frequent lurker/ infrequent poster is very familiar with Harpseal's posts, even if I never had the opportunity to speak with him directly. We have lost a patriot.
Hang in there Laz. Do it for him. I'm sure Matt would have wanted you to keep at your shared venture.
