Mansoor Ijaz slamming Richard Clarke on Fox'N Friends

Mansoor Ijaz just called Richard Clarke essentially a liar. Challenged virtually all of his claims -- and accused Clarke of stonewalling Ijaz's efforts to capture Bin Laden via the Sudanese.

Agree. Condi was pissed for good reason. Clarke is trying to politicize this thing through lies and he will face extreme scrutiny. He is a fraud and will have to answer to his lies. If Al Qaeda was so important for the Klintonites, then why was it relegated to slide #14 of a 33 slide presentation given on 5 Jan 04? This apparently was the only mention of Al Qaeda/OBL during the transition. For John F'n Kerry and his minions to say that the Bush Administration is not doing enough in the war on terror is like Ted Kennedy calling the Pope an alcoholic...

Ouch! I wasn't able to watch Condi this morning but did hear her very clearly and the tone of her voice was enough to know she would gladly have taken a 2x4 to Clarke. I'd be more than happy to loan her one. Then Mansoor got on and let loose, and a few minutes ago there was another guy who ripped Clarke a new one. Of course the damage has been done and there will be those who will believe it.

But didn't you push for military action after the Cole?

Yes, that's one of the exceptions.


How important is that exception?

I believe that, had we destroyed the terrorist camps in Afghanistan earlier, that the conveyor belt that was producing terrorists sending them out around the world would have been destroyed. So many, many trained and indoctrinated Al Qaeda terrorists, which now we have to hunt down country by country, many of them would not be trained and would not be indoctrinated, because there wouldn't have been a safe place to do it if we had destroyed the camps earlier.

Without intelligence operatives on the ground in these organizations, how in the end does one stop something like this? If you look back on it now and you had one wish, you could have had one thing done, what would it have been?

Blow up the camps and take out their sanctuary. Eliminate their safe haven, eliminate their infrastructure. They would have been a hell of a lot less capable of recruiting people. Their whole "Come to Afghanistan where you'll be safe and you'll be trained," well, that wouldn't have worked if every time they got a camp together, it was blown up by the United States. That's the one thing that we recommended that didn't happen -- the one thing in retrospect I wish had happened.

On the top-of-the-hour radio news this morning they are treating Clark's allegations as gospel. It was, by far, the longest segment of the broadcast.

Like hell you don't have to fire them. If you leave these traitors in their positions, they use the clout of that position to stab us in the back. Just cutting them out of the loop isn't enough. They are moles, and worse they serve as "un-named sources" to the media to cite with a cover of legitimacy.

Bush just did NOT learn from history; You cannot keep Clinton hold overs around and expect them to have loyalty to the COUNTRY...they are loyal to the DEMOCRATIC party ONLY...Bush should have cleaned house (particularly at the State Department).

Clinton got rid of everyone, even those beyond the travel office. My 1st cousin had worked for the phone company in the White House since Nixon. He was let go too.

Me thinks that a good portion of Ijaz' ''BS'' is purposeful & coordinated (w/ the Pentagon) disinformation. Keep in mind that he is not billed as a ''journalist'', but as an ''analyst''.

It was very sensible, given that Iraq hid the terrorist behind the first WTC bombing, to ask Clarke to make SURE Iraq wasn't behind 9/11.

Also, in the book The New Jackals by Simon Reeve, it was noted that Iraq went on its highest state of alert with its military two weeks prior to 9/11 and Saddam sent his family into his most secure bunker where Saddam himself went and didn't emerge until mid-October.

He has close ties with the CIA. Note that a member of his board of directors is former CIA director James Woolsey. Ijaz is VERY well connected. I'm not always certain about the quality of his information and his sources, but I ALWAYS listen. He's an important source.
