Lileks has the photos linked from his site as well, and I emailed Drudge yesterday. Have yet to see any mainstream coverage, or Drudge comment.

The public at large has no idea that the last thing any of these rallies are about is "peace".

Not a photoshop. There's eyewitness accounts of it, also. Plus, the Registered mark is most likely because they bought a nice NY Poster (they were ubiquitous after 9/11) and added their own garbage at the bottom. Plus, there's another angle of the same person carrying the sign.

I know. It's very hard to believe someone actually said such a thing.

Look at how clear the sign is compared to the background and people...they look fuzzy/washed out....but not the sign.

Yeah, I was just poking around the source site, and I'm not sure what to make of it yet. May well be a fake, because I'd be surprised if even the unwashed anti-war freaks would let that hateful message stay up.

However, having been at a few of these rallies (as a counterprotester), I have seen some disgraceful signs and people right in the middle of the crowd.

What is even more outrageous is that the media ignores this and similar signs.

Most clipart images of "I Love NY" carry the (R), so that part of the image was probably enlarged and printed for the sign. I believe the protest sign is real...and sick. Two shots combined of the same image:

Another point look at the position of the sign in the persons hands....it doesnt look quite right. Even with no wind.... a sign that size can't be held by the fingertips.

Reg, look closely at the top and bottom edges of the sign in both pictures - those don't look right to me.
