Hillary-friendly NBC newswoman Andrea Mitchell said Sunday that the former first lady is indeed interested in teaming up with Sen. John Kerry as his vice presidential running mate.
Dismissing the longshot prospect that Sen. John McCain might switch parties to run with Kerry, Mitchell told NBC's "Chris Matthews Show," "I think there's another long ball - Hillary."
"According to Republicans and Democrats on the Hill in the cloakrooms, she is interested in running," Mitchell insisted.
She suggested that Sen. Clinton is "doing what is necessary" right now to show proforma support for Kerry's presidential bid, but would take a much higher profile if she knew such an invitation was in the offing.

...as Michael Corleone said to his Consigliere, "Sorry Tom, You're Out!" Good point. She always has been a better wartime consigliere.

Trying to dredge it out of my aging memory and I keep seeing it as the Fox News Opinion Dynamics graphic. So: it might be there.
It MAY have been a Dem exit poll...I don't recall checking out the fine print.
There are moderate Dems who do not want to revisit the Clinton years and would not vote for her. Add her baggage to what Kerry has draped around his own neck and they are negatively buoyant, IMO.
Frankly, I would love for her to run and lose, then lose her Senate seat and have to spend the rest of her life as a strategist for the DNC. We would have a Republican majority for the remainder of my lifetime.

I'd be more worried for W .....Hillary would far rather run against Cheney.......I think its a given that if Hillary is on the bottom after the convention, she'll be on the top by the election!!

I'm guessing she'd be as popular as Geraldine Ferraro was so many years ago..... Do NOT underestimate the POWER of the DARK SIDE!
Hillary will be quite formidable. Once she gets in, the entire GLOBAL machinery of evil comes into action.

I did find an amusing thread here on naming WJC as VP. All sortos of discussion about it being unconstitutional, as if that would matter. Heheh.

I do underestimate a woman who has only slept her way to the top. However, I don't underestimate the American electorate's foolishness that would cause them to hire yet another incompetent and corrupt Clinton.

For Hilly to be 'another' longball, that means McCain would have to be the first longball.
Strange balls these folks are playing with.

"Kerry announces Hillary for VP. Ten seconds later, Kerry's prostate explodes. Hillary picks John Edwards for VP, and her husband (when there is no bimbo in his lap) for Secretary of State."Wouldn't she wait until Jan 21st? Then she takes over as POTUS.
I don't think Kerry will be able to get a good rate on life insurance if his heartbeat is between Hitlery and the Oval Office.

To win in 2008, she still has to retain her senate seat in 2006 - good luck if Rudy runs.

This explains the total media blackout to any real VP prospects. (mccain is a joke vp consideration and all know it)
It also tracks with reporter claims that the VP is not an important pick because it does not add or remove votes.
Translation, hitlary WILL hurt kerry but the media will support her any way and every way.

I think the spin on the polls is more telling. I believe teh fact that the polls are now suspect to "push polling" means hitlary wants in and she is creating a "eeeelectable" prospect. (aka listening tour)
Hitlary comes from the school of thought that if voting mattered, the "we the people" would not be allowed to vote.
Polls will not matter to her, she has the lawyer disease of believing that she can be memoed into popularity.

Can't I be wrong just this once???
As I've been saying for well over a year, I'm worried about VICE President Clinton.
Think of it:
She keeps her promise not to run for president in '04
Two years and one day into her term the first slotter gets arkincided
Under Article XXII, she can still run for two full terms as the incumbent
The Hillary! Decade begins
Hillary uses the Patriot Act to it's fullest extent, and beyond
At the end of the Hillary! Decade there is a National Emergency "temporarily" delaying the elections
Under the pressure of the National Emergency, the 2nd and 22nd amendments are repealed
By the time the National Emergency is over all the 'improved' source code for the touch screen electronic balloting will be in place......
Just as an aside, with the Clinton's love of all things Military - War Hero Kerry is VERY expendable, isn't he?

Hillary and Mccain are about the only 2 people Kerry could pick that would substantially help his odds. Like her or not ,Hillary does have quite a following. She has a following among the base who already hates Bush, and is already planning on voting for Kerry. But there is just as much of a base (a Republican one) who despises her -- what better way to fire up Republicans than to put Hillary on the Dems' ticket!

Can't wait to see her debate Cheney. Then, again, it might be more fun if Cheney steps aside for Condoleeza.

Well .. I agree with the overshadow part, but not the Tah-Ray-Sah not wanting a female veep part.
Personally, I don't think Tah-Ray-Sah is all that interested in being in the WH at all .. just her general attitude when she's on stage with him bugs me .. it's like she wishes she were somewhere else.
Since Kerry was TOLD he had to keep McAwful, I believe he will be a good little soldier and take Hillary as his VP .. or they will expose all the other garbage they have on him.
I believe Hillary just wants to position herself for 2008 - which being VP would do .. even if they lose .. which I already think Hillary may believe is a distinct possibility. Or .. if Hillary thinks Kerry has a chance of winning, she can release enough stuff to deep-six his campaign before election day.
