Jim decided a while back to thin the third party herd and get rid of some of the ad hominum bomb throwers. It didn't sit well with them as they believed they had a God given right to post on FR.
The reasonable third partyers are still here, quietly posting their truths and bringing people over to their side of thinking.

'bot is short for "robot". It's what they call anybody who doesn't think exactly as they do.
Ironic, huh?

Huh? We can't criticize the French because you joined FR?
I'll bet it doesn't work out that way.
We loved Spain until a recent election. We loved Canada until they called us a bunch of bastards that they hate.
I think everyone here recognizes that a sizeable minority in the nations we criticize are our supporters.
To: sauropod
I hope FR does not go down the path of banishing folks that are civil third party types here. I don't think they will. I am not a fan of third parties because I have seen the damage they can cause and I think that they would be far better served if they joined the party closest to their beliefs and worked to change their platform. But I do see the point in many of their arguments even if I don't totally agree with method, timing or how far it should be taken.
Those who worry me are the, "Let's trash it all so we can have another revolution!" bunch. I often wonder if they know how much like 60's radicals they sound.

Go get your man, and put him up for election. Show us you've got somethin'. Or you could just huff, and puff, and piss your pants, and stay home come election day.
To: Dog Gone
Sure, you can criticize the French all you want. But calling them surrender monkeys is an ethnic remark. It's like calling Germans Nazis. That wouldn't sit well with some German-Americans.
I hate the French government and the people who voted for it (except for the FN folks) with a passion for biting the hand that's fed it, but that stuff kinda hurts.
To: Beck_isright
So you had at least
TWO nics on this site, which is against regulations? WHERE ARE YOUR VAUNTED " PRINCIPLES", OR DO RULES ONLY COUNT FOR THE " little people",WHICH YOU THINK YOU'RE BETTER THAN?
Oh so you grew up in more " CONSERVATIVE " times, did you;just when was that,1890?
Here's a hint, "ATLAS SHRUGGED" was a novel...it's fiction. There are two major parties, from which one candidate will get elected.Staying home, or voting fringe party, will either help to elect the Dem, or give President Bush a slimmer win.And YES, there are major differences between Bush and Kerry!
You and your oh sooooooooo "intellectual","principled", and "enlightened" fringers fail to realize that you put yourselves in a position of irrelevance,by your stance. You have nowhere to go,except off that cliff you now hang off of so precariously. The GOP is a big tent, but removing yourself from it, you lose your voice and the party moves farther leftwards, to attract more votes, since your's are either unreliable, or not ever there. Great job, yeah, that's a real show of "intellect"...NOT! LOL
As OPUSES (OPPI ?)go, this one rates at the bottom! Go,leave, hope the door slams you.

Your screen name explains it all.

But you have to remember that it's directed toward French policy, not the people except to the extent that French citizens support the policy.
There are no Polish jokes here, and that used to be a staple of American humor. Why? Because Poland has been a good ally to the US in Iraq and on the war on terrorists.
Canadians who post at this forum sometimes complain about their treatment. My answer to them is that if they're able to retake their government and ally themselves with us, the criticism will drop to insignificant levels.
It's very easy and understandable for us to criticize Spain as a bunch of cowards for cowing to a terrorist attack. It's not like the vote for the Socialists was unanimous. They won by 5%. Spaniards will get no slack on this forum in the future, either.
I'm not necessarily defending it. I'm telling it like it is. If you find name-calling and overgeneralizing of the French offensive, you'll either need to develop a thicker skin, understand that the comments are overbroad, or subscribe to a different forum.

French surrender monkeys? Some French people live in America because they don't feel like living in that socialist hellhole. So you surrendered and came here! Would you like some cheese?
To: French-American Republican
"But calling them surrender monkeys is an ethnic remark."
What a hoot, you can't be serious?
The phrase originated on the Simpsons, as in Cartoon show. Due to budget cuts at the school,Willie the scottish groundskeeper became a French teacher and greeted his class with the line: (scottish brouge) "'Bonjourrrrrr, you cheese eating surrender monkeys'". From there it become an overnight internet cliche.
You are so funny thinking it's an ethnic slur.
