A few days ago, the esteeemed host and founder of this foremerly great website invited me to do the following:
"654. To: JohnGaltfla (#367)
Oh, it's much better to go out in a blaze of glory. Martyrdom, 72 virgins, plaque on the "Great Ones" wall of fame and all that rot.
jimrobfr posted on 2004-03-19 03:29:45 ET"
Obviously, he was concerned that some of his better non-bot posters had abandoned FR for greener fields where our financial and intellectual contributions would be appreciated. It was amusing to watch former FReepers belittle, banter and blast JimRob in various forms.
I was wrong.
FR has changed.
Deal with that fact boys and girls.
Many of us grew up in a more conservative era, where our nation and our freedoms were first and foremost. Now we learn that it that is not the case. Principles are for losers according to the Bots and most of the ignorant posters here on FR. To create noise and call those of us who have been loyal to the conservative cause such creative and wonderful names as "Soros lovers", "Mobyites", "communists"(now that's a good one for those of us who have been overseas staring at AK-47's), "DUers" and names which are forbidden for me to mention but ok for the Bushbots.
The noise has driven off many of the best posters from this site. Now FR has become the Fluff of the RNC, posting such creative threads as "Pray for President Bush - Day 1276", "The Economy (Freep this poll)", " FReeper After Actions", "After Action Freep A.N.S.W.E.R. AUSTIN TX 3/20/04", etc...
It sounds more to me like everyone is proud of responding but no one has the convictions excpet for what the RNC faxes them. This election should not be about "Republican" v. "Democrat" principles. Neither party has any principles. If you morons believe that, then you are bigger fools than I thought. This is about the future of America an the viability of capitalism in this nation.
Why "FReepers" can not see this and hold "their man" to the Hamiltonian principles of limited Federal government and enhancing our freedoms by reducing dependency on any government. By controlling immigration, restructuring the tax system to pre-1916 form, and by enhancing the defense of this nation by using actions instead of words when dealing with foreign powers (little things, like enforcing the acts against nations which do business with Cuba, as Bush promised in 2000). Unfortunately you mind numbed morons don't care. If you're 401K shows a fiat currency positive figure, you're all happy as a fly in a cow pasture.
Go for it.
As Senor Cartman would say:
"Screw you guys, I'm going home"

Instead of mocking and saying your unwanted here, I want to thank you for taking the time to correspond with me on occasion over the past few years. At the risk of stepping out of cadence, and being kicked in the teeth by some, I tend to agree with some of your points.
I too have nothing but contempt for those that will put their party before the constitution and our country. As time passes, more will realize just how dangerous this can be to all of us. The conservatives of just five or so years ago, look and sound nothing like most of the konservatives of today.
I tire of seeing others attacked, mocked, wolfpacked when they state something that may goes against the "party line". I find it very disturbing
What happened to smaller government? What happened to our borders? What happened to protecting our sovereignty and watching out for our own citizens?
I have spoken out many times about our wide open, out of control borders, and this epic invasion of millions. And for speaking out on this conservative site, I have been called racist, bigot, nazi, and other blatant lies and accusations. This site does not tolerate racism and those that push it are banned in short order. Yet those that make these vile accusations and push these deceitful lies are still here and their posts remain intact, even after it was brought to the attention of management, by myself and others.
I hate to see you go. It seems some of the best people are no longer around anymore. I understand the reasons. It's very unfortunate.
Good luck you Beck.

Even posters over there were ashamed of him... Yes, but they tolerate him because he represents the deep dark hatred they feel for Jim and FR.

I don't plan on leaving, but it sure could be fun to write one of these. Write it and go ahead and post it and let us review it. You could then take the time to edit it and end up with an award winning Opus, should you ever need it.

The night before Jim did his stint there, I went over with Texasforever (signed-up as onyx) for the purpose of availing myself to the folks there who were including me in their bashes. I went there to either mend fences or to build higher ones.
I must tell you, I was treated nicely by the majority of the folks. They know I'm a Bush-Bot and that I stick-up for FR, that I am a $1-a-Day contributor here, but they welcomed me all the same.
I gave my word in print, that I would not first bash them or the site, and I will keep my word. The personal rhetoric has to stop.
Case in point: Howlin is given too much credit (blame) for the bannings. I know it sometimes might appear that she has that power but only because when she debates it's like the calvary has arrived, and at times a poster has exploded to the point where he gets banned. That is hardly the fault of Howlin. Adults ought to be able to keep their tempers in check or their fingers from typing unconscionable comments.
The other one who takes a beating over there is nopardons. To think she has power here is uproariously funny. Sorry ETOM, if you read this, but you know it's true.
I am in total agreement with Jim regarding the 3rd party folks. They're akin to the democrat's troubles with Nader. Time after time I have characterized their support and their votes for 3rd party candidates as "masturbatory" to the point where I think Jim told me to knock it off once. :)

I never was able to make a connection between a bizarre obsession with certain people on FR (like Howlin) and advancing the conservative cause that they claim has been forsaken here. Now that they have a place where they can post what they want, they are posting about....internet personalities?
The internet is a big place, I say the more forums the better, but one would think that they would be taking advantage of that which is allegedly lacking here.

That other site is so full of vitriol; I am amazed.
My goal is to make JimRob rich. He earned it. He gambled, and succeeded, on his beleifs. I am honored to be part of his site.
I, for one, plan on giving greatly to the Man who started this revolution.
Sorry for the soapbox thingy, but what the hell.

They have a good forum for news etc.
The Bikers Bar is wholly different.
I should have explaied myself better:
Texasforever and I went to the Bikers Bar, as did Jim.
It's rough and tumble there and it's meant to be that way.

To be fair, there seem to be a few balanced, well reasoned folks over there but they get drowned out by the nut cases. For the life of me, now that it's up and running, holding their own
FReepathons moderated by Badjoe, I don't know why Neil and Goldy don't make FR a verboten subject.
It would do their site wonders. It might kill it, but it may also attract a better caliber of poster.

I don't really care what they do over there, like I said, the more forums the better. But, it is still a little disturbing to see such fetishizing of FR personalities when there are so many other important issues with which to be concerned. Just because it is ALLOWED doesn't make it RIGHT.
I'd rather that LP not be mentioned here at all so we can focus on more important things and not personality wars.

Is that the best you can do after all these years of having screen names with "beck" in them?
So you really expect the nation to abolish the income tax? With just one "Conservative" president?
You go vote third party. Then, when Kerry or Hillary is in control, you'll really have something to complain about.

It's rough and tumble there and it's meant to be that way. For a site that is built on what they call free speech, all views welcome, nobody gets banned (except Bush lovers and those criticizing the site or owners) credos, why is it necessary to create a Biker Bar?
The Biker Bar was a way for them to keep the FR bashing, but deny they are an AF site at the same time. The Biker bar is a way for them call themselves a free speech site, all views welcome then play hide and seek with the posts. If for some reason, posts about FR need to be taken off the main forum and secreted to their own section, why not eliminate them altogether?
If you ask me, it's chickensh_t.
