Are you reading the paper this Sunday morning and fuming? Hate the spin of the paper and looking at all the pictures of the DNC/Soros/Heinz financed anti-Bush/anti-American/anti-Troop rallies.
Do something proactive - its not too late. If you are a lurker - sign up as a member and start participating on the forum. Don't worry about becoming a member - you won't get unwanted e-mails, spam, etc. It took me two years before I took the plunge and I'm really sorry I waited.
If you are a freeper - then take the next step and either join the chapter in your area - or start one! It is great for getting things going at the local level - which means we will better be able to get things going at the national level. Freepmail me with any chapter membership questions.
Don't just read today's paper or listen to today's news - perhaps you couldn't be at a Pro-America rally but you can do something equally positive. Get more involved in FreeRepublic.

Can you add something to my title - like "become a member of FreeRepublic". Thanks!

I know how you feel in general, Rabid Dog. But *lucky* for me I am listening to Christian music, celebrating the beauty of today as well as yesterday's rally, and haven't gone out to get the cat box liner...er...newpaper :) LOL
But, I am with you on people joining FRee Republic and getting active... While we're at it, let's get active with our pocket books too... Pry open that wallet a notch and support this site and it's activism. And say a prayer every once in a while :) BTTT

The Tampa Tribune buried the local protest story on page 4 of the Metro section. Which means there really wasn't much of a protest and/or it's the same bunch that always is protesting.

I'm still feeling "cleansed" from the rally yesterday but I know a lot of people didn't have the opportunity to get their frustrations out of their system. I bet sending in a donation right now to FreeRepublic would feel REAL good!
Here's a challenge for all freepers and lurkers - match your newspaper/magazine subscription with a donation to FreeRepublic. Better news at the speed of light (or your modem)! Should be worth the 50 cents a day you spend on the paper. Don't even need to be a freeper to donate. If you are a lurker and you get your news here - send in a donation (and please join while you are at it).

Dear Rabid Dog, this will lift your spirits :)

(The Olympian) "CAMP MURRAY -- It was hard to tell what was louder at Saturday's massive rally in support of the troops: the wind rippling hundreds of American flags or the cars honking as they passed underneath. One year after American forces began the war that would topple the regime of Saddam Hussein, hundreds of people came out to wave flags and show their resolve in standing behind their loved ones in uniform. Two dense lines of red, white and blue filled both sides of the overpass above Interstate 5. "This is the America I know," said John Kilwanis, 45, of Tacoma as he waved a flag at the traffic below and cheered..."
Good news stories - (shocking but true ;)

Well, I for one read the paper this morning. Imagine my relief when I finally sat down and pulled up FR, that I couldn't find one single post confirming it was the "end of the world" and that "George Bush knew".

I agree. I joined Free Republic and about a year later particpated in the birth of the Houston Area Texans, (HAT) the FReeper Chapter in my hometown.
We FReeped A.N.S.W.E.R. anti-war rallies, attended troop support rallies, appeared on local cable access Communist TV shows for debate, Freeped losers who were protesting former President Bush's appearances at local places and a myraid of other events. I met some of the most wonderful people I know.
And when I got ready to leave the area late last year, it was FReepers who insisted on helping me move my belongings and helping me in so many other ways. I never asked; they insisted.
So join up, participate in your local chapter and meet some fantastic people who will probably be friends for life.

Do freepers do windows?
Actually, what I have noticed is that being an freeper and being involved in a local chapter has made me a better person and a better conservative. I am much more involved in my community and much more willing to speak up if an injustice is being done. I am also a heck of a lot more educated and I feel like I have a real on-line community of friends.

This is a great idea for the upcoming Q2 FReepathon. Another FReeper (I don't remember who) had posted the idea of a Free Republic Membership drive - introducing someone who hasn't heard of Free Republic to the site (something like that).
(What would you do Without Free Republic?)
