Hello fellow Freepers. I am taking the plunge and running for City Council here in Ocean City, NJ. I've had enough of the elected officials ignoring the general public.

I have already sent out some basic mailers and am going door to door. My campaign website is www.charlielondonforcouncil.com. Any comments or suggestions as I proceed are greatly appreciated.

Listed below is the press release that was published in the local papaers announcing my formal filing.

*** Press Release ***

On Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at 10:00am, Charles M. London will officially file as a candidate for the position of City Council for the Municipal Election to be held on May 11, 2004. The filing will take place at the City Hall for the City of Ocean City. Charlie is running for the 2nd Ward Council Seat, which represents the area from 4th Street to 12th Street, beach to the bay.

Charlie has been a full time resident in Ocean City since 1994. Sharing his life here in Ocean City are his wife, Lorraine London, son and two step-sons. Charles M. London is a licensed Real Estate Salesperson working for Osborne Realty, LLC headquartered in Wildwood, NJ and is a part-time instructor at the Ocean City Aquatic and Fitness Center. He has also worked over the past nine years with Lorraine at her antique shop, Yours Mine and Ours LLC, currently located at 959 Asbury Avenue.

Charlie has been a very active and vocal participant in many community groups. Currently he serves as Junior Vice-Commander for the Morvay-Miley American Legion Post 524; as a Trustee for the Saving Our Station Coalition and is heavily involved with Beacon Animal Rescue.

His involvement also extends to many business groups. Charlie is the Immediate Past Chairperson for Main Street Ocean City Steering Committee, which serves the Downtown Special Improvement Districts; Treasurer for the Business and Neighborhood Association, Inc. ( B.A.N.D.) and as Director for the Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Charlie hopes that you will be able to join him for this important occasion.

Good luck to you. Ocean City has been one of my favorite places to visit over the years. It will be great to have a freeper running the town.

GO FOR IT CHARLIE! Although I used to spend my summers at Point Pleasant, I have enjoyed visiting your town in the past. It is a great place and would be even better with a Freeper such as yourself involved in running it!

Thank you for your words of encouragement.

There are approximately 2,200 registered voters in my ward. It will be an interesting split with 5 candidates running.

If you happen to be coming out my way, drop me a note.

Thanks again.

Ocean City is my favorite place in the U.S. I live in North Jersey and my mom had a house on Ocean Ave. in the Gardens from 1995-2002. Nothing beat sitting on the upper rear deck listening to the ocean while looking at the stars and the lights of A.C. Very peaceful (even in the summer) I was deply saddened when she sold it. I was actually thinking of moving there in three or four years when my son is ready to start school.

Good luck. Let me know if I can help.

I'm glad you like the site. I will try to update it on a weekly basis.

If necessary, I'll use it to defend myself from negative campaigns against me.
