Upon arriving, the word was that we would have about 30 FReepers (if lucky), and that there were going to be about 1,500 "peace" people. As we gathered and waved our flags, spoke our mantras, the "enemy" slowly ascended the hill. My anxiety about being quick-witted in response to reasoned arguments rapidly vanished. The rag-tag crew that ascended the hill (about 600-700) people Why is it that the lefties always manage to get more people at their demonstrations than us?

Why is it that the lefties always manage to get more people at their demonstrations than us?Because we're not professional rabble-rousers, and we don't bus in unionists or idlers on the public dole. We have jobs and other serious responsibilities in life. I'm thrilled that these guys in Fayetteville had a turnout of 90. That is tremendous.

I think I gotta go with the aforementioned reason, we have jobs and real lives, they don't.

My husband took our two oldest boys camping, and our oldest daughter has equestrian events all weekend, and we have four kids under 5 in addition to the above. That is, we have lives!
That said, I'm still annoyed that we scheduled all this stuff before we knew about the FReep, and we'll try to make the next one!

Great report, not-an-animal, and I hope we'll meet in the relatively near future!

Because its all Americans pretesting on our side. The socialists/anti-Americans receive support, organization and people from foreign countries. Think of the foreign (aka hostile) support behind Move-on and other communist front organizations.

I worried about this for a while too; "Why is it that the lefties always manage to get more people at their demonstrations than us?" I was concerned especially after attending my last FReep.
Then it came to me as I was driving home. The reason that they always get bigger crowds is because they have too much time on their hands. College kids, unemployed, street bums, welfare recipients, etc...
I drove home watching families having picnics in parks, playing little league, working in their yards, and otherwise "LIVING" the American dream. Most of these people beleive in America and are willing to defend it. They are the people who stand, stay quiet, and put their hats over their hearts when listening to the National Anthem. And they are doing what they should be doing... Taking care of their families, living, being free.
I think the most important part is to make sure that these people don't get too complacent, that they vote, at the ballots and with their pocketbooks.
I just keep this in mind....
A "Peace" protest doesn't make peace, just like A uniform doesn't make a patriot. (J. F'n Kerry, you listenin?)

The fact that the silent majority is in the streets at all says the times are changing. We stayed home and harumphed during Vietnam. We stayed home when Reagan put Pershing missles in Europe. Most of us stayed home during the Clinton years when we had something to be truly outraged about.
We finally got off our butts during the priod of the great inconvenience.
For the socialists this is their avocation. We for the most part volunteer in the hospitals, the Scouts, the schools... So the fact that we are in the streets at all should be taken as a positive sign.

Because engaging stupidity is a waste of time, and time is something engaged people have very little of. Some of us have to work for a living so we have money to spend to keep the economy running, and the government flush with cash.

Easy, we work and have jobs. They have nothing else to do but gather for a leftist activity.

Why is it that the lefties always manage to get more people at their demonstrations than us? I don't know if you are aware of this or not, but many of the leftist's out there are professionals. They are bought and paid for. This is not really just a bunch of "concerned citizens" like the media would have us believe, they recruit and offer money and perks like transportation and accommodations. Next time they have a big demonstration, just check out Answer's website and the links.

Well, I guess if we paid people to come we might more, but we don't. People to ours because they are honestly concerned with what is happening in our country and want to see the wrongs righted the correct way.
