His colorful criticism that NAFTA would produce a "giant sucking sound" of jobs being siphoned overseas echoes today. There is some unintentional irony in the word "echoes."

Perot is a good man. His only sin was running as an Independent and not being Hollywood and camera friendly. People are so shallow.

I knew the family reasonably well growing up - went to school with his daughter Suzanne for 8 years. Ross is a very colorful person but one who went a bit off the deep end later in life.

Perot quit running for President when it appeared he might win.
He jumped back in at the last minute to divert enough votes from Bush so that Clinton would win.
Ross Perot gave us President Clinton.
Up yours, Ross.

"My role was insignificant," he kept insisting during the interview.
Wrong, Mr. Perot. You started a political revolution and you just don't realize it. The numbers of Independents are growing faster than either of the two party cabal. We'll win. It might take some time, but we'll take this country back.

HRP is battier than a room full of Jacksons.
Remember how he quit the race in '92 because the Republican dirty tricks comittee was going to do something at his daughters wedding to make him look bad, and he still got 20% of the vote.
I was part of alot of local groups organizing to get him on the petions early on, but I shudder to think of what would have happened if he had won.

Ross Perot used his mindless followers and their money to rig an election to elect Bill Clinton.. you can add his name to the Clinton crowd responsible for rampant terrorism unchecked and ultimately the atrocity of 9-11
It has been noted that Clinton and Perot met over 30 times before he decided to run as an independent...he hated GHW Bush and could care less what kind of damage Clinton would do...
Perot's Company, soon to be created if conditions planned by he and Clinton fell into place... (Remember..General Motors bought EDS.. [which managed Medicare]from him to get him off the board...) .... was to win the contract to manage brand new Hillarycare...1/7th of the GDP of this country... ole Ross, your so called "folksy" character is only a Clintonite snake looking to make a massive killing making him tens of Billions more.

He's no hero to Pubbies. He cost us two elections to the worst president ever--the First Felon. He should be ashamed of his serial asininity. I still think he was in cahoots with Klintoon.

What Perot did to rescue his people from Iran is something that I will always respect.

Perot is an American Patriot, paranoid but a Rainmaker - he makes things happen. I read his unauthorized biography and a book about the personality of an entrepreneur in 1992. Perot possesses the traits of an entrepreneur and a natural born leader. It's a shame that his temperament was not suited to live in a fishbowl and be subjected to "nattering nabobs of negativism" in the liberal media.
George Herbert Walker Bush left the oil industry in the 60's because he couldn't stomach the troubles which were occurring on an offshore rig while safely sitting in an office in Houston, so he went into something less stressful - politics (loser). During his term as Vice President and later President of the United States, the U.S. Domestic Oil Industry was allowed to wither on the vine and die while Pappy Bush fiddled around like the mentally sick Emperor Nero doing absolutely nothing. Bush Sr. is one of the most inept and incompetent individuals who has ever occupied the White House and definitely not a conservative. Read his Lips, Bush Sr. has nobody to blame but himself. He was not fit to sit in that position (President) to begin with and should never have been elected.
I have voted for his son a total of three times (President George W. Bush), first as Governor of Texas, then President of the United States. The decision to remove Saddam Hussein was as a result of the stupidity of his father along with advice given by Joint Chief of Staff, Collin Powell in prematurely ending the first War against Iraq (if you are going to strike at a King, you have to kill him).
The sins of the father were placed upon the son to deal with.

Perot, who dropped out of the 1992 Presidential campaign because he said he was afraid that George H W Bush was going to sabotage his daughter's wedding, and then later rejoined the campaign, is just a rich nut case.

The "Ross Perot gave us Bill Clinton" crowd is too simplistic in their thinkiing. The MEDIA gave us clintoon. Ross Perot gave us lasting discussion about balances budget which led to the Republican takeover in congress.
Now if the bastards would CUT some actual waste in govt spending, we would have a balanced budget again.

Ross Perot sent a job warning to Bush I. Since then we hear the mantra, 'Perot gave us Clinton'. Actually Bush I, ignored the economy and gave us Perot. Bush II is lucky there is no Perot or Buchanan today. It is still 'the economy, stupid'.

Don't know if Perot elected Clinton or not. Just have one question.
What's the difference between giant sucking sound and outsourcing?
