"My interview with Fox news mostly centered around why I brought the girls. My answer, I want them to see that their are a variety of opinions out there. I want them to see that what they see on the news, just the anti-Bush crowd, is not all that is out there (Thank God for fellow Freepers!!)" Truth be told, your views are representative of many more folks who weren't there than are those of your anti-American (whether they realize it or not) counterparts. I know you're representing what my family believes! Thank you very much.

Great job, Atlanta FReepers! It has been great seeing all the after-action reports posted today and I'm sure there will be more tomorrow.

Well, I finally got home and decided to see what kind of response we were getting to our FReep! It was an amazing afternoon, filled with pride, joy, and some interesting insights.
I have to tell a story to illustrate my reaction to both the FReep and to the area.
Almost 1 year ago (363 days) I attended a FReep in my old city of Reno, NV.
It was a wonderful experience. We marched up to show support for our Country, Troops and Commander in Chief in the face of a number of anti-Americans. Well, when the FReepers made it up the hill, we outnumbered the antis by 3 to 1. It was exciting and wonderful.
Today, after walking up the a different hill, I found my new friends FReeping. At our largest number we were outnumbered at a minimum of 5 to 1. Instead of the antis being overwhelmed by us, their numbers made them overconfident (wrong, but overconfident).
I wont go into huge details about all the people; others that were there have already covered it much better than I ever could.
What I will offer is some impressions. First, I believe (I may be wrong) but from my count, there were only 3 children there. I brought one of my sons and Hilaryrhymeswithrich brought her two daughters.
It makes me wonder, do none of the antis have children? That might explain their inability to understand defending something that you love. Or, maybe, they do have children, but are not confident in their chosen course of action; they dont believe all that they stand for? Or could it be that they dont want to expose their children to the moral decay that their movement represents? I honestly dont know the reasons, but the only future Americans that were there were the ones that were Right.
I took my son because he needs to know that those who dont stand for something will fall for anything. He also needs to know that it takes more than a uniform to make a patriot (John. fng Kerry, are you listening?).
I had another observation: Except for the antis that cant deal with reality (they were stoned), and the gay pride marchers, there was not a smile or happiness to be seen on the faces of any of the antis.
There was a vet calling EOD stupid (not his ideas, but a personal attack), there were Palestinians pretending to be Iraqi, there we Rastafarians looking for a party, goths looking for another reason to be miserable and old hippies trying hard to be vindicated for their hatred of our country. But there wasnt a happy face on anyone other than the FReepers!
What was the thing that seemed to bug them the most? 10 People waving flags and celebrating the freedom that allows them to be there.
I must admit, at first, I was bothered that there was not a bigger turnout of Americans. I was concerned that apathy had indeed taken over.
Then, as I was driving home I saw families everywhere, they were in parks, having picnics, playing little league, taking their kids to the rifle range, shopping, doing yard work and a million other things.
I realized something important, the reason there wasnt a big turnout of FReepers standing as a force against the hippies and activist wanna-bes is because the bulk of the Free Republic was out there, living the American Dream that our troops overseas are busy supporting and defending!

The reason the antis didn't have their kids with them is because they were all aborted.
