Any Guesses On Who Will Be John Kerry's Running Mate?

I think Kerry will surprise everyone, with his choice of running mate. I am thinking of 4 possibilities.
One possibility may be Max Cleland. Cleland's advantages are that he served in Vietnam, and he is from the South. It will be portrayed as an all-hero ticket, with geographical balance. There is also the victimology issue. Democrats have had great success in portraying Cleland as having been smeared by the mean, ugly, nasty, cruel, hateful and sadistic Republicans, in his 2002 re-election effort. Nominating Cleland as his running mate, will help Kerry remind voters, especially soccer mums, how mean, ugly, nasty, cruel, hateful and sadistic the Republicans are.
The other possibility may be Sen. Robert Byrd, who would help Kerry carry West Virginia, which Democrats lost last time to President Bush.
Pat "Osama Mama" Murray of Washington State is another possibility, which may be done in the name of women's rights, and enable Kerry to match Mondale's gender equality move of 1984.
Kerry might also need an experienced and well-rounded candidate like Jerold Nadler of New York, who is, well....round.

Byrd was on with Susan Swain this morning as part of recognizing the 25th Anniv. of C-SPAN. God love the old fool but he actually forgot what he was talking about in mid sentence two or three time.

lieberman would be a liability - too much baggage from 2000. plus he has the charisma of a wet dishrag.
besides, do you really think the dems could rally behind a supporter of Israel?

>>Not a good choice for VP I think<<
The Vice-Presidency does not have much responsibility. If Cleland was able to perform his duties as a US Senator, then serving as VP won't be a big deal.

There is a good chance that Kerry will be defeated at the convention because he is such an unstable and juvenile candidate.

Richardson has already taken himself out. He prefers to be Governor.
He might be a bit afraid of things coming back to haunt him, like his job search for Monica and the problems with the nuclear facilities and security.
He was able to skate on this stuff before, but maybe not in an all-out campaign. For instance, I can see Cheney taking him apart in a debate.

Kerry would like Kerry to be his running mate.

Some consideration has to be given as to the VP's ability to be President (at least it should).
I can't see Cleland as president, nor Pelosi, nor Daschle, nor Ford, nor Kennedy, nor Gephardt, nor Sharpton, nor Clark, nor Dean.
Richardson or Hillary... Edwards as the last choice...
