Men Posing as Officers Invade NW Houston Home
A northwest Houston family is traumatized, after three men impersonating police officers, broke into their home.
ABC13 Eyewitness News
(3/12/04 - HOUSTON) Houston police are looking for three young men who forced their way into a home and robbed a northwest Houston couple.
The homeowners tell police the three suspects were dressed as police officers when they pushed their way into their home on Mayfield near Vogel around 2:00am Monday.
That's when the suspects tied up the husband and wife, their 19-year-old son and his friend, then stole 10 guns from a gun collection. Before leaving, they beat up the 19-year-old.
Police say he took himself to the hospital for minor injuries.

I didn't see this posted, it's interesting in that the criminals dressed as police to gain access to the home. Something for those who are for and against "no knock" police raids to consider.

"Before leaving, they beat up the 19-year-old."
$20.00 says the son knows them somehow and that they either heard him talking about his fathers guns or he was bragging to them about the guns.

They made a point to beat up the 19 year old son? I wonder if the kid had anything to do with it, indirectly or otherwise?
I was almost happy when my son grew out of his teenage years. He was able to keep a lot of kids that were questionable out of the house but there was always the loudmouth who might have mentioned what I owned. One kid asked me what I would do if I was ever robbed and I told him that it was fairly easy for me to find out who did it. I also told him a few other things that made him understand it wasn't worth it.

Probably. Maybe he was out shooting at the local gravel pit, and the local dirtbags coveted his family weapons, and found out where he lived.
But independent of that, the use of police uniforms in a home invasion is very worrisome. This was happening in Florida in the 80s, and in some cases it really was cops "moonlighting," and sometimes it was just criminals dressing for success.
But it's worth compiling these stories for another reason: if anyone ever blasts real cops as they bust in on a wrong-address no-knock raid, these fake-cop stories will be useful in defense.

Notice that in Texas, it's a "Gun Collection", anywhere else it's an "Arsenal"...
Now if I could only move my position to Texas..hmmm
To: labette
I'd add that no family dogs were shot in the process, either.
Sad that we have to have a "joke" about that, but this is what the alphabet soup agencies have become: a joke, err, threat, to freedom loving people everywhere.
Thanks, Drug War, for no-knock raids, I'm afraid the joke is on us now.

The door is always opened and they are invited in for coffee or something stronger.
A no knock raid in the middle of the night would be met with accurate fire from firearm. I might go down but I would exact a price. Of course a no-knock raid in teh middle of the night is IMHO rather unlikely unless the Feds get the wrong address.

A bunch of thugs beating down your door should be met with a large volume of aimed rifle fire.

That is how we know the liberals do not mean what they say. Clintons AG responsible for Weaver family snipings, 85 + murders of American and foriegn citizens in Waco, expelling of a five year old child by gun point ,to a communist nation, whos mother gave her life so her son could be free.
Yeah John Ashcroft is brutal.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that this family's teenage son was blabbing about the family's gun collection, and a few of his "friends" decided to go after it. This is probably not a random crime.

"A no knock raid in the middle of the night would be met with accurate fire from firearm. I might go down but I would exact a price. "Bad guys and cops alike should read and heed your post. It mirrors my feelings exactly. I'd feel bad if I had to kill a cop who thought he was "just doing his job," but if he were coming for me, my family or my firearms....I'd get over it.

No-knock serves absolutely no legitimate purpose, IMHO, except in an absolute life-or-death situation. And even then it's imperative to know your target and plan accordingly.
To: Larry Lucido
I agree 100%. One of the unintended consequences of widespread use of no-knocks is to cow the sheeple into submission, and enrage the others into shooting at possible home invaders in disguise.

By the time they tripped my alarms system, countered my physical security, killed my four rottweillers and were trying to reload they have me to deal with. They just don't want to do that. Too easy to call me and ask me to come down to the sheriffs office. Safer for all involved .
A no knock at my residence is not gonna be pretty for either side....legal or not.
Stay safe !

Howdy.
Sounds to me that these guys knew what they were looking for too. We had some thugs do their own 'no-knock' on a fellow drug dealer, said they were the police. They shot the guy but he lived. I think they crawled in through a window about 3 a.m.
We served a no-knock about a week ago, first one in a few years. Guy was selling dope, flashing guns saying he was going to kill the cops when they came for him.
We served it about 2 in the afternoon.
Guy was on house arrest, had the bracelet on his ankle. God Bless America, sell dope, buy guns and threaten to kill cops all on house arrest.
What a great country.
To: Travis McGee
I almost forgot, only thing this guy had time to do was crap his pants.
Love when that happens.
