Maybe it takes like 10 minutes to grind out a response, har har

Yeah, that's cute, but can this guy build a Freeper-bot?

i thought B was human because of the inference that a holiday would mean more people not less.

B has noticably longer responses. But both spell too well.

The 'bot doesn't listen very well. That's a freakishly good imitation of a human.

Might make sure you eyes didn't peak down to the answer before you read the whole thing :)I didn't. I'm in AI. Look at how B mechanically extends the conversation over and over by picking out a word in A's response that it actually knows something about. Then it extends the conversation by talking about that thing. In other words, it controls the conversation by making sure it stays on its turf. Sounds smart but unlike humans, it actually listens to the other guy :)
It's still a very impressive program. I suspect it uses the CYC database, which is free in its public form, to access common sense knowledge.

One bridge they'll have to cross at somepoint though is whether or not its illegal to proposition a computer program pretending to be a young child. Screw legality! When can private groups of citizens get their hands on this software to lure child molesters to their deserved deaths by beating? Nothing else will keep perverts from using the Internet to find victims.

No. Only the teen chatrooms will. Sounds fine to me. Same thing as spam. Holy spam, of course, but the result will be the same, and it will NOT be limited to teen chatrooms.
Enterprising hackers will find lots of entertaining things to do with these.

I thought B was human because of the inference that a holiday would mean more people not less. The CYC database of common sense knowledge is designed to cover stuff just like that. Product of years of work at MIT. Look it up on the internet. In its basic form, its free!

and how long before the next step - gunownerbots, trying to trap gun owners?

They need human volunteers? What's the point then?
In any case there are a LOT of advances to be solved in AI before a bot can really hold meaningful English conversations. Bleeeech.

Yeah, that's cute, but can this guy build a Freeper-bot? Would you like this guy to build a Freeper-bot? Tell me what a Freeper-bot would mean to you.
