The budget is in the tank and the workers' compensation system is in disarray. California, it appears, is suffering from bad chi.
What better time, Assemblyman Leland Yee argues, for a feng shui tuneup?
Yee, a San Francisco Democrat, is pushing a legislative resolution that urges the state and municipalities to consider adopting design standards that incorporate the ancient Chinese art of geomancy. Feng shui (pronounced fung shway) principles hold that one's physical surroundings and the flow of chi (pronounced chee), or energy, can be arranged to attract harmony, wealth and good luck.

How dumb can lib/dems get? Don't answer that....
To: TheBigB
I dunno.
Maybe if the more liberal democrats are told they have to permanently relocate to New Hampshire or somewhere where they are harmless, (and they actually go there) I would go for this stuff!

It doesn't matter how you pronounce it, it's all lost on me. Of course, I consider aroma therapy to be fresh bread or an apple pie baking in the oven...

I'm sorry, but this is an unconstitutional establishment of religion.

Usually when someone in the legislature is pushing some nutty idea, you'll find a big contributor like a union or trial lawyer group behind it. Is there a Feng Shui Consortium slinging around lots of campaign cash these days, or what?
To: anniegetyourgun
The sale of this home actually fell through due to poor Feng Shui vibes...

Inclusive or not, the proposal -- which is set for its first committee hearing later this month -- has attracted derision. One Assembly Republican regularly cites it as an example of the Legislature's frivolity in a time of financial crisis. Yee brushes off the criticism as the grumblings of people who don't understand feng shui or perhaps spend too much time in the Capitol -- a building with two misaligned wings, dim hallways that lead nowhere, and many windows that won't open.
I think he means DEM hallways that lead to nowhere, and to moronic proposals like this one.
