This is a good scandal to have now. The Left has been clinging to this false claim of moral superiority--that's effectively over. It was always false and this will drive it home to the vast majority of the American people.

This is the same UN that Kerry wants to rule in Iraq. And Koffi and his son have been implicated in the Oil for Food program, IIRC. Real pillars of the diplomatic world.

I'm kinda' naive when it comes to world politics, but as a layman, I'm thinking that something like this could affect attitudes and decision making within the UN as to what is best in world affairs as seen by the UN.
Am I being out of line by thinking such a thing?
It's a scary thought, seeing an article like this, when an organization such as the UN, which has been elevated to present levels because of it's importance in helping to maintain a functional and peaceful world is perceived as being something less than pure in it's endeavors.

...the U.N. program, which sold more than $60 billion worth of oil in 6 years... According to Newt Gingrich on the O'Reilly Factor, the $60 billion all passed through a single bank in France. Without complete and audited records of every transaction this investigation will go nowhere.
