Hey wjersey -- if you are a member starting tomorrow, how did you post this today? Inquiring minds wonder about these things. Quite a concept imagining Marcus Hook as the next battle in the war on terror.

Nothing to see here, move along.

John Kerry will ensure that nothing bad will happen to us ever again. Because he will talk with these people.

I'm certain that their intentions were peaceful, we just can't understand their advanced sense of curiosity.

Nothing ever seems to develop out of these stories. Maybe it's because taking photos isn't a crime, but I'd at least like to hear the excuse, plus the names involved.

Hmmm...

Taking pictures is now an arrestable offense?

Mind you, I agree that this is fishy, and these folks should be questioned, but with what part of the criminal justice code do they plan on charging these near-do-wells?

Interestingly, the S. Philly area is one of the few places in the US where tankers come in close to land to unload oil for refining. In most places, the tankers stand offshore and transfer their load through a long pipeline, and an explosion would be much less damaging to the shore. The Philly tankers have to come into and up the Delaware River.

If you watch the video , it says that they lied about what they were doing when first questioned.

My cousin has an obsession with trains: model trains, train dispatch games, rehabbing old locomotives, and even running scenic train loops.

He'd spend a day driving around to intersect with trains crossing bridges or other dramatic views, so he could photograph them.

Wonder if he does that now.

My stepfather was a lab tech at Sunoco's Marcus Hook refinery, of which a great view can be had from a big hilltop cemetery (where my grandparents repose) sandwiched between the Sun refinery and I-95. The Amtrak line bisects the Sun refinery (not the prettiest entrance to Pennsylvania).

The other big refinery in that (literal) corner of PA is the Conoco/Phillips(?) plant in Trainer, which is between the Hook and Chester. Before Conoco/Phillips bought it, it was the property of Tosco, and before that BP, and before that Sinclair (which was bought by BP).

Hmmm... are these three men Muslims by any chance? Are they Arabic? Are they foreign nationals? Are they in this country illegally?

I bet that one or more of the above are true. Why? Because the politically correct Leftist "reporters" always omit that information UNLESS the perps are American Caucasian men.

Let's get the whole story.

Don't let the INS have them! They will be released and gone before dawn.

Refineries are very good targets for terrorists.

I hope these (blank) (blankety-blank) (expletive deleted) PUNKS are beaten into confession. Or death.

Does John Kerry know about this? He seems to think the idea of terrorism is a Bush scare tactic to be re-elected?

I worked summers when I was in college in the 60s as a Merchant Seaman on Sun Oil tankers out of the refinery at Marcus Hook. That refinery is right up against highly populated areas and within spitting distance of the Northeast Corridor rail tracks. I would have to think it would be an appealing target for terrorists. I am glad people who are taking pictures are detained. Beats the crap out of hassling old ladies at the airport.

Who owns that refinery now? I think it used be Sun Oil.
