The new Bush television commercial, which began running in the swing state of West Virginia on Tuesday, sought to discredit Mr. Kerry's defense credentials by attacking him for voting against the $87 billion bill last year that financed operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Mr. Kerry had voted for the resolution authorizing war in Iraq, but White House aides said he later expressed enough ambivalence about the war to let them portray him as opposing a war that enjoys wide support among Americans.
Mr. Kerry dismissed the advertisement. "I understand that the Republican attack machine has welcomed me to West Virginia today with another distortion and misleading statement," he said.
"I'm not going to worry about them misleading because we're going to just keep pounding away at the truth," Mr. Kerry told the crowd of veterans, who wore a rainbow of caps, jackets and pins representing all the military branches and recent conflicts. "We're going to build an army of truth-tellers."
Mr. Kerry added, "I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it," referring to an amendment he supported that would have rescinded some tax cuts to finance the war.

I love it! And I hope some GOP adman sets a commercial to that Carly Simon song Anticipation. I think that would be a hoot.

"I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it." What an unbelievable statement even for John F. Kerry! How can you both vote for AND against a bill? It strains credulity. I mean he can't defend his vote against the $87 billion in assistance for the troops in Iraq, so he's trying all of a sudden to have it both ways. He should really hear how ridiculous it sounds to Americans. This folks, is an instance of classic waffling. Leaders, lead - second guessers worry about their previous decision. Let's face it, Kerry is simply not qualified to be President Of The United States.

Dear Mr. Dumb-F##k Kerry:
When one builds a house, they need the right materials: lumber, steel, pipes, hammers, nails . . .etc. These things can be easily found and purchased.
But, where in the world are you going to find the materials to build Truth Tellers in the dimdem party? The best you can hope for is roach guts, snake slitherings, rat turds, and slime-ball socialists - these are NOT the materials of Truth!

How is Kerry attracting these "crowds of veterans"?The question is now how.
The question is when will they see the "king with no clothes" and start fading away.
I'd love to see a Kerry rally with more of Ted Kennedy showing than any other people!

Are they all from the War of 1812 and senile
They are FAKE! Just like the "soldiers" who testified against our Veterans of Vietnam.

He will, my friend. Its a completely circular statement. I've never heard of any legislator saying they voted both ways on the same bill. Not even Hillary Clinton would say something so stupid. She'd be laughed out of the room. Kerry should really be laughed out of national politics. When this guy is pressed to defend his position, he comes out with a damaging gaffe. And he wants to convince people he has what it takes to be President? It sounds like he doesn't have his marbles in place!

JOHN KERRY IS AN INTERNATIONAL SOCIALIST. The most dangerous of all socialists. They want to form a worker state that spans the world, where you are not only equalized down to your neighbor but to people in Ethiopia, Iran, Pakistan, etc.
