Kerry:"I Support The Second Amendment" (yeah, right)

Kerry was heading to West Virginia to meet with fellow veterans and await the Tuesday results of the presidential primary in Illinois. He already has won more than enough Democratic convention delegates to win the presidential nomination.

Kerry's scheduled visit to Huntington and Charleston reflects West Virginia's newfound importance on the electoral map. Once considered reliable territory for Democrats, the state voted for Bush over Al Gore in 2000.

Somehow, I can't imagine that Kerry is beloved by the NRA and SAS folks. I suspect this comment can be quickly disproved by somebody with more access to Lexis/Nexus and Senate voting records by who has more time than I have.

Where was Kerry about AWB, gun registration, waiting periods, etc. when these issues were debated and voted on in the Senate?

Anyone willing to take up the challenge and prove this statement for the absolute lie that it probably is?

Kerry: The Second Amendment guarantees an American's right to hunt.

"I'm a gun owner. I've been a hunter since I was about 12 years old,"

When Kerry was 12 years old,his parents were shipping him off to any boarding school that would take him.

LIAR!!!!!

Depends on what he believes the 2nd to mean.

If he believes it means an individual's right to own and bear firearms, I'll be shocked.

He probably uses Mike Dukakis' definition: a hunter oning a gun is OK with him, as long as there are lots of restrictions and caveats.

That is the key, not whether he supports the 2nd amend, but how does he define, how does he interpret its meaning?

I've no time today, but I'll give it a bump for the those that may.

My bet is Kerry's place on those issues listed was someplace to the left of Teddy Boy.

He might support flushing the 2nd Amendment. I won't trust him beyond that.

God this man is so transparent. He is for the Second Ammendment and yet he left the campaign trail recently to join his fellow Democrats in a measure in the Senate that would have continued to erode the Second Ammendment. Maybe he will change his position next week.

Kerry thinks the Second Amendment is only about hunting.

In other words, he doesn't have Clue One on what the Second Amendment is all about.

All one can ever think of when listening to Kerry is that he is a two-faced flipflop who will say anything to anyone to get a vote.

Well he does like to hunt. Remember the picture of him hunting some sort of birds recently?

Unless he borrowed the gun and it was just a photo op.

But, Kerry wouldn't be deceptive. Would he?

So how is Kerry any more pro-gun that Gore and why does he think West Virginians will accept his word on it any more than they did Gore's?

I know it's a typical Democrat stunt to take the press hunting with them and then manage not to hit anything. Clinton did this. Ann Richards did this. It's a standard stunt for liberals in conservative states to play "hunter" for a day to try to con gun owners.

I suspect this comment can be quickly disproved by somebody with more access to Lexis/Nexus and Senate voting records by who has more time than I have.

This short list popped up after a 30 second search on Google

John Kerry On the issues

Voted YES on background checks at gun shows. (May 1999)

Voted NO on more penalties for gun & drug violations. (May 1999)

Voted NO on loosening license & background checks at gun shows. (May 1999)

Voted NO on maintaining current law: guns sold without trigger locks. (Jul 1998)

Prevent unauthorized firearm use with "smart gun" technology. (Aug 2000

Why wonder about Kerry's position? Go see Kerry's own Sportsmen's Page!

"Dove, quail, duck, deer. Kerry described how to hunt and gut them, talking as he sliced through a steak at midnight after campaigning all day in Iowa for the Democratic presidential nomination. Carve out the heart, he said over dinner, pull out the entrails and cut up the meat. Bad table manners, perhaps, or good politics. After Sept. 11, 2001, some Democrats argue, they can't take the White House if they sound like doves. That is not a problem for the dove hunter."

Yeah...the Dove Hunter...I like it. Osama will die of fright when confronted by the Dove Hunter!

And while you're there, don't miss Kerry's Second Amendment Page!

"John Kerry strongly supports the current ban on assault weapons and voted to restrict the manufacturing, transfer or possession of these weapons in the United States—including AK-47’s and similar weapons used by terrorists in Afghanistan."

Clinton's semi-autos...used by terrorists in Afghanistan? C'mon Kerry.

Thanks.

"Unauthorized firearm use"? Is that the mother-may-I federal form of gun control?
