It's been a while since we had a thread along these lines.
I can tell from comments I am seeing in threads, on abuse reports, and in Freepmail that some people are unhappy with various policies and their implementations by the staff here.
I've seen allegations that certain factions are picked on. I've seen allegations that the moderators have killed activism. I've heard rumors that we killed Kenny, and even that we killed the radio star. I see certain personality conflicts acting up, and know that one (or both) sides in it feel that we aren't doing what we should.
So let's open this can of worms.
This thread is for making your grievances heard. If you think something stinks or is wrong, make your case here. Back it up with facts. Let the audience at large weigh in on your evidence.
I'll read the thread. Jim will too in all likelihood. So will the other moderators. Depending upon how well you make your point, and depending on if you can convince Jim, me, the other moderators, and/or the world, maybe you can change things. And if you don't, then it might make you feel better to have vented, so it won't make this thread a total loss.
I'm not going to reply to this thread for quite a while. Rather, I am going to sit back and watch to try and get a feel for the general tenor. I encourage those who are both happy and unhappy with things to particpate in this thread.
Let's rock.

This thread really exposed a whole lot of people for who and what they are and I don't mean their objects of vilification and scorn.

Just seems a shame that a thread that started out as trying to make this site better and more productive turned into a flame war. I guess I should have learned in my 47 years here on earth that some people are not happy unless they are "throwing some **** in the game", to use one of my daddy's favorite expressions....:)
BTW, I've read your posts. Very informative, and I always enjoy reading your input.

Some, I suspect, came from the Persian Gulf, or Japan or wherever natural,non-cultured pearls came from. LOL
Jim, I have NEVER EVER been an anti-freeper (although a constructive critic), I have and still defend you, your family, and Freepers in general. You invited be to leave because I had reservations about President Bush and dressed down "nopardons" for being abusive and insultive (which is in your own writtien policies). My history shows that I have rarely gotten into flame wars. I simply asked "nopardons" to cool it on her personal attacks. You in return "invited" me to leave for allegedly continueous attacks on favorite Freepers. Unfair and untrue. I have been a supporter of the FR forum from day one (no matter what political the direction - it's yours). However, I earned the right to be critical of RL Free Republic activists policies through the years (and have been proven right). Yes men only serve to re-inforce a leaders suppositions.
Because I post on a site that has a section which is anti-Freeper you assume that's my postion. You couldn't be more wrong. I just recently made satire of TBLshow's stupid accusations that all things wrong are President Bush, yours and Bob J's fault. Did you happen to see that one, or other pro FR comments? Probably not. If you really think I'm an anti-Freeper, than your judgment is wrong.
I am NOT anti-Freeper, and I also don't care what your current politics/mission is about. But I do care about the RL activist extention of FR, and I'm dismayed to see another coven attacking established and intellectual posters by the current crop of narrow-minded syncophants.
Knowing how stubborn you are (as am I), I'm sure I will get a negative reply to this. But just please remember the names CaL, Clarity, Mojo, Navigaor, Uncle Bill, Don Morgan, etc., and my historical warnings of "forum police", offical moderators not withstanding.
Still wish you the best in your efforts. I will be voting for President Bush simply because of his outstanding success against our current WOT. But I reserve the right to question his socialist domestic policies. Rodger Hunter
