Get Yer Ya-Yas Out [FR Moderating Gripe Thread]

[history]
LM here.
It's been a while since we had a thread along these lines.
I can tell from comments I am seeing in threads, on abuse reports, and in Freepmail that some people are unhappy with various policies and their implementations by the staff here.
I've seen allegations that certain factions are picked on. I've seen allegations that the moderators have killed activism. I've heard rumors that we killed Kenny, and even that we killed the radio star. I see certain personality conflicts acting up, and know that one (or both) sides in it feel that we aren't doing what we should.
So let's open this can of worms.
This thread is for making your grievances heard. If you think something stinks or is wrong, make your case here. Back it up with facts. Let the audience at large weigh in on your evidence.
I'll read the thread. Jim will too in all likelihood. So will the other moderators. Depending upon how well you make your point, and depending on if you can convince Jim, me, the other moderators, and/or the world, maybe you can change things. And if you don't, then it might make you feel better to have vented, so it won't make this thread a total loss.
I'm not going to reply to this thread for quite a while. Rather, I am going to sit back and watch to try and get a feel for the general tenor. I encourage those who are both happy and unhappy with things to particpate in this thread.
Let's rock.

"I freely confess that I have chuckled on occasion at the irony after folks here have swarmed this or that poster, gotten them banned, told them "Go post at LP," only to suddenly complain when said banned posters come unleashed at LP and start tormenting their old nemeses here. What did they expect? Freepers create Anti-Freepers."
Stop making sense.

Ma'am, maybe you didn't understand what I posted so I'll "say" it again: forgive me for my transgressions, I won't cause you any concern again.
Capiche?

I freely confess that I have chuckled on occasion at the irony after folks here have swarmed this or that poster, gotten them banned...Saber, I really must challenge you to provide some proof that this is occurring. Please. I'm tired of reading about it, but never seeing or hearing of any real examples. Only speculation. And like people in prison, people banned from FreeRepublic are all "innocent".
To: Texasforever
Go get 'em TF.
TBLspoon might explode.

What it boils down to is that neither Kerry nor Bush have viable policies to stimulate domestic business, industries and resultant domestic job creation.Sad that you think it requires them, Congress, and policies to do the job of the free market for itself.
The only viable program for government is to get out of the damn way, stop regulating business to death, stop forcing high costs on operations through taxation, minimum wages, unemployement insurance, ridiculous workman's comp laws etc., and stop frivolous lawsuits that are more designed for social change and not justice.
You sound no different than a typical cherry picker...pick this industry over that industry. Protect steel workers? Sounds good until companies that use steel go out of business. Protect sugar manufactures? Why not? Who cares if 20,000 candy making jobs go to Canada, not because of high labor costs imposed by government regulation, but high sugar costs!
Also, the vast majority of manufacturing jobs across the country are not the $20-50 an hour, unionized jobs for life you love...they are basically $10-12 an hour routine jobs putting gromments in holes. But you are willing to have "policies" to "protect" those jobs for some reason while at the same time saying every $10-12 an hour job at Wal-Mart is fueling the sixth level of hell.
You have no economic perspective. But at least you wouldn't vote for Kerry. Too bad the vast majority of those wonderful, unionized mid-manufacturing job workers will in key states like Ohio, Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
While the happy, non-union employees of the Nissan and Mercedes plants in the South vote for Bush. Look at the demographics...that old Midwestern manufacturing, heavily unionized, Eastern European decendant worker is dying out and fading away.
That's one reason Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, and New York lost representation (and electoral votes) in the 2000 census.
You want government policies but like to ignore the damage of collective bargaining and union BS in caring only about an increasing wage with no regards for increasing productivity or efficiency. It's almost like tenure when you can't fire an incompetent factory worker.

OK I tell ya what...
As embarrassing as it is to get into a petty blow-by-blow with you, this has become important to me. You have repeatedly accused me of being a liar, among a lot of other slanderous and false accusations.
Jim can read my freepmail, and clear my name, and at this point I am asking him to (I'm sorry, Jim).
If Jim allows you to lie so maliciously about me with impunity, or says I am lying, I will leave Free Republic forever. Otherwise, all I expect is a public acknowledgment that I am not a liar - I don't even ask for your apology.
