Airsoft terror threat.....good grief

Why not spend more time on the Mexican border and go after narco terrorists and al-Qaeda
not to mention the Mexican Army running ops protecting drug operations inside CONUS

did not put one of the guns in a case and it was within his reach during the traffic stop.

But they're not guns, so these statutes don't apply.

The JBTs like their scary-looking but puny MP5 "girl-guns." They don't like the peons to enjoy owning cool-looking stuff, because that would take the "bad-ass" cool factor out of it.

Next year:

John Henry, 25, of Riegelsville, Pa., is charged with possession of an arsonal of pictures of fully automatic guns, a fourth-degree criminal offense, police report.

Police said the charge is mainly based on the allegation that Henry did not put one of thepictures in his briefcase and it was within his reach during the traffic stop."

I wonder what would have happened if he had been hauling one of these (it's a custom-made rapid-fire BB gun, from this website):

Police said the officer had no way to immediately determine if the gun was real or not.

The "BLAZE ORANGE" stub on the end of the barrel didn't give him a clue?

Gieeze!!!

GtG

The worst part? The newspaper treats this as "Nothing unusual here" indifference.

Time to get out the REAL guns and take this country back!

"Police allegedly found an imitation Remington Model 700 sniper rifle ..."

So now the most common deer rifle in existance, the one in about half of the hunter's homes in America, is a sniper rifle?

And the Lord knows he could put an eye out with that thing.

Sadly, many plastic functioning and non-functioning replica or toy guns do fall into the category of "objects that will get you killed".

They must be treated as though they are real by any tactically aware person.

Now whether it is a crime or merely stupid is another matter entirely.

And of course, New Jersey is a third, separate issue.

Best regards,

Police said the charge is mainly based on the allegation that McManus did not put one of the guns in a case and it was within his reach during the traffic stop.

Police said the officer had no way to immediately determine if the gun was real or not.

The facts kinda belie the headline.

Cops are understandably jumpy at traffic stops. Jumpier if they see a gun, or something that looks like a gun. I don't blame them.

I'm not ready to jump all over the cops on this case. Legitimate RKBA concerns need to be balanced with legitimate concerns for the safety of police at traffic stops.
