Spain Decides to Run Away

The election in Spain that turned the government over to the Socialists sent a clear message to al Qaeda: Their bombing worked.

Much of the population reportedly did not want to join the US-led coalition to impose regime change on Iraq. Now they have decided to sit on the sidelines of the global Jihad, but they will learn some very harsh lessons in the process.

As far as the Jihadists are concerned, any show of weakness is always an invitation to attack again. Moreover, on March 11, an al Qaeda dispatch published in the Arabic newspaper, Al-Quds Hafs al-Masri, crowed about having penetrated "one of the pillars of the crusade alliance, Spain."

"This is part of settling old accounts with Spain, the crusader, and America's ally in its war against Islam", said the al Qaeda dispatch that took credit for the bombings.

Al Qaeda is always referencing the "Crusade" because they know that the true believers among them, an estimated hundred million out of the more than one billion worldwide, regard the Crusades as a dark period of retreat from the holy land. It wasn't until 1187 AD that Saladin was able to recapture Jerusalem, routing the last of the Crusaders in 1291 AD at Acre.

Simply stated, one of the goals of the Jihad is to reclaim Spain for Islam. Europe, too.

In 711 AD, Muslims invaded Spain and established Islam there after taking over all of northern Africa. They would remain in Spain for seven centuries until driven out by El Cid. An effort in 732 AD to invade France was defeated at Poitiers, halting their northward expansion into Europe. However, it would take until 1492 before Christians captured Grenada, the last Muslim stronghold in Spain.

After last week's bombings in Madrid, France reportedly contemplated or actually did close its border with Spain. Either way, the fact remains that there are over five million Muslims in France and they are second-class citizens there. All of Europe is in for a period of terrorist attacks and, when the tourism drops off, their already weak economies will begin to tank.

By showing the white flag of defeat, the people of Spain may think they have bought some time for themselves and that the Jihad's show of power will end, but they simply do not understand the Arab mindset.

For more than fifty years, every time the Israelis offered any steps toward a peaceful resolution with the Palestinians, they were attacked. Despite having been repeatedly defeated in five wars, the Arab terror war continues unabated. One would think Spain and all of Europe would have learned something from that, but instead of identifying the real enemy, Europe continues to condemn the Israelis for wanting to live in their ancient homeland.

The memories of the Jihadists go back centuries. They see themselves as a vanguard of a new holy war to spread Islam. Spain is just the first stop on the conversion of Europe and America is now just a little more isolated in its effort to confront this enemy.

The al Qaeda dispatch taunted the premier of Spain whose party has been defeated. "Aznar, where is America? Who will protect you, Britain, Japan, Italy and others from us?"

If, in November, America rejects the leadership of George W. Bush and the policy of confronting the Jihad in the Middle East where it is brewed, life is going to become quite grim here. Like the Spanish did on Sunday, we will have signaled retreat and defeat.

I now think they will move on France, within 5 years, to establish some type of Islamic state.

5 Madrids in France (which would be easily done), and they can write their own ticket.

Expulsion of the Jews, Notre Dame becomes a mosque, withdrawal from the EU, what else?

Thanks for this post. It is scary now that Spain has capitulated. This will encourage the terrorists and the dims for our elections.

Spain dishonors its dead. Because of this, we will have more innocent dead to grieve tomorrow in allied countries that have had the courage to stand up to terrorism.

I suspect a large percentage of the vote was Muslims.

For more than fifty years, every time the Israelis offered any steps toward a peaceful resolution with the Palestinians, they were attacked.

This should be repeated. There is no negotiating with Muslims, quite frankly. Their religion is one of conquest and violence, and negotiation is simply taken as a sign of weakness and readiness for conquest.

Spain is only 1.2% Muslim and most of them aren't citizens. The U.S. with 2.5% has more Muslims than any EU nation besides France & Germany. Even Germany has barely more (at 3.7% with only 4% of that citizens) and France is around 6% or so.

Sad to say it, but the result in Spain will embolden Al-Qaeda to believe that they can achieve the same results here with a pre-election attack. Spain has not only done themselves a disservice, their response will ultimately lead to the death of American civilians.

In short, this constant refrain on FR about Europe being overrun with Muslims is slightly ridiculous.

I think you are right, considering Kerry's position on terrorism.

It's also worth noting that most of the Muslims in Germany are Turkish guest workers and most of the ones in France are Algerian, former colonial subjects. France and Britain are the only nations that have made any meaningful effort to assimilate their Muslim population.

Exactly. Spain was Islamic once. It will be again
given their loudly declared weakness.

FLASHBACK: EU's leader Solana leads an EU queue
to serially lick sputum directly from the lips of their, and HIS, terrorist hero,
Arafat, serial murderer of innocents and children.

OK, folks, this is tongue in cheek. I'm mourning this news bitterly this morning...

ESPANA SE RINDE...

...and Espana ran away. Bravely ran away, away!

pipes playing..

When danger reared its ugly head,

she bravely turned his tail and fled. (No!)

Yes, brave Espana turned about (I didn't)

And gallantly, she chickened out.

Bravely taking to her feet, (I never did!)

She beat a very brave retreat, (Oh, lie!)

Bravest of the brave, Espana!

Has anybody heard anything reported about the socialist party materials found in Jamal's flat yet? a smart reporter might want to ask.

Was Aznar really a manipulator? Or, was the socialist party scum collaborators?

Umm.. That is most definitely not Javier Solana.. The guy licking sputum from the lips of Arafat is Syrian President Bashar Assad and the guy with that fey smirk in the foreground appears to be French Foreign Minister Dominique de Villepin.
