Whats the deal on "www.publicintegrity.org"?
Posted on 03/14/2004 11:24:40 AM PST by Names Ash Housewares
A lot of lefties site this page. Though they say non-partisan, it seems to spend more time attacking Bush. I looked for a search engine for their page to type in "Heinz" to no avail.
"The Center for Public Integrity, a nonprofit, nonpartisan, tax-exempt organization, was founded by Charles Lewis following a successful 11-year career in network television news."

I have always thought AOD was a comedy along the lines of the adventures of briscoe county jr.

I am NOT a troll or planting left wing propaganda! I thought this group would have the dirt
on that web page. Im trying to learn about it since
the left seems to be using it a lot on usenet. You can google it.
I was hoping to find evidence that it is biased. It sure looks biased!
I didnt mean to look like I was trying to plant something.
I guess that happens a lot so sorry. How should I have
asked though? what is the best way? Ive been voting solid straight Republican since Ronald Reagan and listening to Rush since 1989! Believe me that LAST thing I want is to help the left in ANY way! Period! I trust in conservatism.
I trust in the soundness of its arguements and the ability to back them up logic. I trust in my fellow conservatives to come together to get the facts out. That where Im coming from.
I was asked by a friend what I knew about the page.
He gets a lot of email from lefists friends. So Im guessing thats where the link came from.
I had never heard of it before. Actually kinda surprised
at the reaction I got here, but Im new so I guess thats the facts of life.
The "B" movie "Army of Darkness" is where my screen name is from. Bruce Campbell at the end blazing away at the undead with his shotgun with American flags in the background. The character works in "S-Mart" in the housewares section. Where they sell shotguns.

I'll be blunt here - you weren't very specific in what you were looking for.
All you had to do was type "Center for Public Integrity" in a search and you'd have found the site, as well as others referencing it.
This is the actual home page link: http://www.publicintegrity.org/dtaweb/home.asp
Put that in the line on Google and you'll get a page that you can select to show all sites with links to theirs. Besides the usual news source references, there are plenty of Leftist sites connected to it.
It's not hard to search around and deduce who is aligned with who.

they think they are clever.
they think it is clever to choose a name based on their ubermenschen idols.
they think it is clever to choose a name based on jumbled scrabble tiles.
they think it is clever to choose a name comprising randomly selected names.
They think that in so doing, it either irritates us or confuses us. In reality, it does neither. It arouses and amuses us.
Kitties doooo like to strop their claws.

I was hoping to find evidence that it is biased. It sure looks biased!C'mon.... Your answer is right there:
"The Center for Public Integrity, a nonprofit, nonpartisan, tax-exempt organization, was founded by Charles Lewis following a successful 11-year career in network television news."
To: JoJo Gunn
Ill endeavour to be more specific next time.
I just found this article on their founder after I wrote
all the stuff below.........
Drudge to the rescue!!!
http://www.drudgereport.com/Weiss/011000.htm They have a disproportionate amount of material
on Bush then anyone else. So I think that is
Slam #1 against them. They dont mention Soros,
They dont mention all the Heinz fortune monkey business.
We already know big money is involved in politics, duh.
They seem to feign outrage at something thats been
the norm for decades in both parties. Implying democracy
is for sale is a stretch.
I found this article from thier founder....
http://www.gregpalast.com/detail.cfm?artid=309&row=0 He has a book for sale, big surprise right!
I wonder if he was as excited about drawing attention
to the Chinese Communist money that went to Clinton?
Their page says they accept Tax Deductable contributions!
Can they do that? I want to see WHO contributes to THEM!
WHO buys influence of the self appointed "democracy watchdogs"?
