I hope the trend changes, but this is the kind of thing that worries me.
I imagine a homeland terrorist strike in the week before the presidential election here. I would like to think that we'd return to the anger we held after 9/11 and our resolve to take the fight to the terrorists would strengthen. I'm afraid, however, that the leftist argument of our 'unilateral unprovoked' attack was the cause of the attack and would be bought by enough of the sheeple to sway a close election.
I pray I'm wrong, but I have real concerns that very close to the election we're going to see another terrorist strike here. Especially if it seems to work in Spain.

The population of Spain is about 1/7 of the US. The Australians equated the Bali bombings as their 9/11, based on population.

Al Qaeda knows exactly how Europe is. That is why they did it so close to the elections. The dems over at the liberal forum are practically doing a countdown on the next ones to go - Bush, Blair, Howard etc.

If they believe they can affect an election through terror, guess where they'll be going next... I was just thinking about that. If Bush is ahead in late October, I'd expect AQ would try to attack the US and throw the election to Kerry. And while I wouldn't put it past the Democrats to play along with AQ, I think Americans would not cower in the face of danger.

Confirming again that a vote for Kerry is a vote for terror.

45% of us don't run. Sickeningly enough 45% would. It's anybody's guess about the other 10%.

No, it was a little more than a mistake. Towards the end it was a pretty obvious downplaying of the clear Islamic threat(by the govt., the international press, and the United Nations). I would of course still vote for the PP, but I would also be quite upset with the party.

Keep cool, folks. All indications are that this is going down to the wire - remember the margin of error for polls, only the count of the ballots matters.

The media didn't spin it that way at all.Yes they did, regardless of whether you were paying attention or not.
The Saturday report by the socialist-aligned radio station of a coverup was jumped on massively by the media, with Fox, CNN, and MSNBC broadcasting these staged 'protest' yesterday afternoon. Google 'spain' 'election' and you'll get an AP story that every paper over here is running repeating the coverup/falsely blame ETA allegation and declaring that it will likely swing the election.
Yes, there are plenty of Freepers who were determined from the beginning that this was AQ, and any of the substantial evidence pointing towards other groups or a collaboration of terror groups were ignored. And every time a train derails there are freepers who immediately scream AQ, no matter what the evidence.
