[history]
ALISO VIEJO, Calif. (AP) - City officials were so concerned about the potentially dangerous properties of dihydrogen monoxide that they considered banning foam cups after they learned the chemical was used in their production.
Then they learned that dihydrogen monoxide - H2O for short - is the scientific term for water.

I prefer my dihydrogen monoxide in both solid and liquid form. Preferably together.

But I'll bet you can compute 40% of an award after expenses with little problem :) Or is it 50% now?

Reminds me of the man who came into the lawyer's office and asked, "How much is it to speak with you?". The lawyer responded, "Three questions answered for $500.00". "Wow", the man cried, "Thats quite a bit of money isn't it?". "Yes", the lawyer answered. "And now what is your last question?".

What are some of the dangers associated with DHMO? Good list but they overlooked the absolutely proven fact that EVERY person involved in drug use tested for the presence of Dihydrogen Monoxide tested positive!
In addition, it is a sad but true fact that every person found at fault in every automobile accident had injested a considerable quantity of DHMO within 48 hours prior to the accident! While no causal linkage has been proven, the mere prevalence of the DHMO injestion suggests that the accidents were at least in part caused by Dihdrogen Monoxide.

California. The home of "Weapons Grade" stupidity. Ignorance runs very deep here...,p> There is still a small, dedicated band of Californians working diligently to keep the general level of intelligence close to the national average. Everyday it gets harder and harder as they add more and more liberals to the lowest quintile. Its a tough, tiring job, but somebody's got to do it.
Just sign us,
The few, the proud, the getting damn sick and tired of it.

Conceivable, one could drown in enough water; but what harm could there be in, gasp!!, two bags of sand? Only the administrator knows for sure. One hopes. Putting my brain in school bureaucrat mode (disabling 90% of the synapses and disconnecting the cerbral cortex), I note these facts:
(1) GLASS is primarily composed of silica sand.
(2) GLASS when broken forms sharp shards.
(3) Students have been cut by broken GLASS found in the school environment.
I therefore postulate:
(4)Sand made of silica may spontaneously form GLASS.
Which:
(5)May break into sharp shards,
thereby:
(6)Endangering our students.
Conclcusion:
Either ban Sand, or limit Sand.

This reminds me of a little prank my sh!thead of a nephew pulled. He posted a sign above the water fountain that said: Warning! Contains Hydrogen. He said lots of kids and teachers fell for it.
That's the kind of thing we would have done growing up. He'll turn out fine and is far less likely than his classmates to become a liberal. >:)

Combined with ethanol, this combination can provide temporary alleviation of excessive mental capacity.

This all reminds me of the violence of my youth when we used to form gangs and hurl Hydrogen Hydroxide Sublimate spheres at each other. This, of course, has been outlawed on all school campuses for many years.

The real story is that the city was prepared to enact binding legislation on the basis of something a paralegal dug up on the internet.
The DHMO hoax is an old one and very widely known. How many less obvious hoaxes and fictitious, unverified claims have gotten by us and into the law books?

Consider this, gang:
Somewhere out there, in the depths of space, hyper-advanced ET's are listening in to the Today Show and PBS and the breathless bleating of yokel-news career-builders.
If so, liberal science legislation is the laughingstock of the universe.

It is absolutely amazing that the paralegal is that ignorant and, much worse, that nobody bothered to run the "discovery" past someone who has passed freshman chemistry.
It is possible that there is no such person in Aliseo Viejo, but they could surely have sent for an outside consultant.
Libs love that, so it wouldn't have interfered with the real objective here, more power and greater cash flow to bureaucrats.
