Voice actor here. Contralto, professional tone.

This is what I do!

Unfortunately I'm computer illiterate. How can I record these?

Professional rodeo announcer as an avocation.

But, I didn't see "snot-slingin' hunk-a-hamburger" in there, so I'm not sure I could do this.

I'd be happy to help out. (Been doing national and regional talk radio and TV since 12 November, 1976.) Should have access to a studio to do this right. Where are you located geographically? Please FReepmail me.

I have a good voice (sort of like a white Barry White, I have been told) and would be happy to do it, but have to figure out how to record on my computer.

AWOL Senator (no time limit)

Senator John Kerry MISSED the vote on prescription drugs.

Senator John Kerry MISSED the vote on Homeland Security.

Senator John Kerry Missed 64% of ALL votes last session

John Kerry... AWOL Senator

=============================================

As a recovering free-lance writer and long time Toastmaster I can tell you this is much more a visual ad than a spoken one. As they say in the biz: It doesn't "scan" well.

The weakest link in the chain is the last line:

John Kerry... AWOL Senator

The word "AWOL" will almost certainly confuse the listener; even amoung those who know what the term AWOL stands for.

This is what the listener would likely hear:

"John Kerry...A wall Senator."
or

"John Kerry...A woll Senator."
or

"John Kerry...A wool Senator."

There's only one chance to get your message across -- and get it right -- with the listener. This "spot", esp. the last line, isn't it.

May I suggest a rewrite?:

Senator John Kerry MISSED the vote on prescription drugs.

Senator John Kerry MISSED the vote on Homeland Security.

In fact, Senator John Kerry missed over HALF of all votes last session.

John Kerry... What's missing here?

I only listened to one of the ads (the first one--slow dial-up) but my biggest complaint is not with the quality of the voice, but rather the pacing. The woman reading the ad had the sort of haste in her voice that generally connotes dishonesty. While I'm aware the pacing was dictated by time constraints, it would be better to speak fewer words and have them come across better, than to speak more but sound like a used car dealer.
