WHERE IS THE MASS MEDIA? SOMETHING IS IN THE WORKS! FREEDOM IS COMING! This Chehar Shanbeh Suri and NoRooz (New Year) is going to be one that lives in History - SUPPORT ALL IRANIAN FREEDOM FIGHTERS - LONG LIVE A FREE IRAN and may THE IRANIAN PEOPLE FIGHT BRAVELY AND SUCCEED!
Ongoing Rebellion in Fereydunkenar! MOST RECENT PHOTOS FROM UPRISING:
The demonstrations began some hours ago. Fereydunkenar is a small town in the northern province of Mazandaran. The people attacked and were able to liberate a building used by the Islamic Republic's security forces (Sentry Post #2). They then started moving to the city of Babolsar, but were soon confronted by Mazandaran's provincial security forces. They've been pushed back into Fereydunkenar and the latest news I've heard is that the small town is now divided between the rebels and the security forces and the scene of fierce street battles.
At least 5 people have been killed and scores injured.
NOTE, THIS UPRISING IS STILL CONTINUING.

Does anyone know how far Fereydunkenar is from Teheran? What are the chances of any of the other cities even hearing about this?

Things are happening in Syria too:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1096961/posts Syrian police said to have killed 40 [Kurds] in clashes

Syrian security forces over the weekend killed some forty people during violent clashes which originated in a soccer game and later spread to demonstrations throughout the Kurdish regions of the country, according to reports that reached Haaretz on Saturday.
According to the reports, by relatives of witnesses to the incidents, security forces fired live rounds at the crowd.
Shots were also fired from within the crowd, injuring several Syrian officers, including a colonel.
Some 30 people were killed during the Friday riots that followed the soccer match.
The protests continued on Saturday, with tens of thousands of people demonstrating in the northern city of Qamishli.
According to the reports, some ten more demonstrators were killed Saturday.
The Associated Press quoted witnesses as saying mourners rioted at the funeral of the people killed during the football stadium stampede, vandalizing shops and forcing police to fire shots in the air.
Two local hospitals, one private and one governmental, reported hundreds of injuries. The report also claims protestors burned pictures of Syrian President Bashar Assad. Another report claimed demonstrators in the nearby town of Amuda burned an installation of the Syrian security services.
According to the reports, the clashes began on Friday during a soccer match in Qamishli, located near the Turkish border in a province populated mainly by Kurds. The local Jihad team, comprised of mostly Arab and Kurd players, was playing the Fituwya group from the city of Dar el-Zur, near the Syrian border with Iraq, when Fituwya fans began calling out "long live Saddam Hussein." The Jihad team responded with "long live Barazani" shouts, pertaining to one of the Kurdish leaders in Iraq.
Clashes ensued between the two camps inside the stadium, which contained some 5,000 people at the time, and three children were trampled to death in the uproar.
Large police forces that were called to the scene were unable to quell the large crowd, and reinforcements that later arrived opened fire, killing around 30 people and inuring dozens.
Following the incident, violent demonstrations spread on Friday to other cities in Syria's Kurdish regions. During the protests, signs and slogans slamming Assad's regime as well as the ruling Ba'ath Party were displayed. A demand was also raised for an international investigation into human rights violations during he incident.
Syrian loyalist forces, accompanied by tanks, were sent to the region, and a curfew was imposed in some areas. Efforts were also being made to calm the situation. Syrian opposition groups, especially Kurdish ones operating outside the country, were attempting to raise public awareness to the incident, and were planning to hold demonstrations in various European cities.
Friday's incident represents the most violent wave of protests in Syria in recent memory, and this in the backdrop of current U.S. threats to take sanctions against Damascus for its support of terror organizations, and especially due to American suspicions that Syria was not doing all it could to prevent Saddam loyalists from entering Iraq through its border.

I remember reading somewhere that the mullahs have brought in a number of arabs for security service. Because of the lack of loyalty shown by persians towards the mullahs.

all it would take is one armor squadron, and the rest of the military would either hole up or join up.
