Imagine if one side decides that it would be fun to build an underground complex, start a nuclear war, and come back out from under ground later and have the whole world to themselves. I believe that is there plan.

Top Al Qaeda Militant Killed in Saudi Shootout
Mon Mar 15, 2004 06:10 PM ET
RIYADH (Reuters) - Saudi Arabian security forces shot dead a Yemeni man believed to be a leading al Qaeda figure in the kingdom as well as another militant in a shootout in Riyadh on Monday, officials said.
The Saudi Press Agency quoted a source at the Interior Ministry as saying Khaled Ali Ali Haj, a Yemeni man reported to be a senior al Qaeda figure, was killed along with suspected militant Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz bin Mohammad al-Muzainy. (snip)

Sometimes, to me, it seems that the entire situation is a hall of mirrors. What we see as defensive the Russians convince their people is provocative. No doubt they harbor suspicions about the enlargement of NATO. Things are pretty much on a hair-trigger alert.
Now, add in AQ (probably funded by the Russians on some level) and it seems very likely we will be faced with nuclear detonations on US soil; also various biochemical attacks and the like. I don't think it will "just" be AQ going after us--Russia and China, IMO, are a part of their coalition.
There was a post on the Mutter's site last night that said that there were off line rumors to suggesting that when things heat up in Israel- that may well be the "go code" for the rest of the AQ attacks.
