Sometimes, to me, it seems that the entire situation is a hall of mirrors. What we see as defensive the Russians convince their people is provocative. No doubt they harbor suspicions about the enlargement of NATO. Things are pretty much on a hair-trigger alert.
Now, add in AQ (probably funded by the Russians on some level) and it seems very likely we will be faced with nuclear detonations on US soil; also various biochemical attacks and the like. I don't think it will "just" be AQ going after us--Russia and China, IMO, are a part of their coalition.
There was a post on the Mutter's site last night that said that there were off line rumors to suggesting that when things heat up in Israel- that may well be the "go code" for the rest of the AQ attacks.

Just got home from the hospital a few minutes ago. Thanks so much for the prayers and positive thoughts on my behalf.
Good news: the procedure went well, and I'll be back at work in a day or 2 or 3. (Hey, at least I get to FReep to my heart's content for the next few days.)
Not so good news: I'm facing at least 2 more surgeries over the next several weeks.
When I told my Mom I truly wished I didn't have any sinuses, she told me, "Without 'em, your head would be too heavy to lift." Gotta love maternal wisdom...

We did have troops in Georgia, a while back. Not certain if they remain there or have returned.
Adzharia is a breakaway province of Georgia, and has a diplomatic mission to the Kremlin. Kind if convenient isnt it, especially since Russia is a hair trigger away from invading them to re-consolidate their former empire.

There is only one reason that I can see for the Russians to be building such massive underground citys. And that is that they fully intend to use them.
