WASHINGTON (CNN) -- This week's deadly train bombings in Spain will not lead to a rise in the U.S. color-coded terror threat alert system, a Department of Homeland Security spokesman said Friday.
"Based on the current intelligence, we have no specific indicators that terrorist groups are considering such an attack in the U.S. in the near term," said department spokesman Brian Roehrkasse.

Yep. Jeremy is 110% correct and so are you.
IN MY OPINION, 98% of the jihadi "news" and personal "views" is pure chicken manure propaganda, BUT that other 2% -- that's the stuff one takes a hard look at.

"Perhaps those passengers should have a physician's signed authorization to take specific drugs onboard the craft, and prior authorization from the airline before the flight so that the passenger could be "pre-screened" for the flight."
They're supposed to pre-screen but whether they actually do or not is another story. If the person takes insulin injections via needles, personell is supposed to screen to ensure that all of the caps for lancets and needles are secure and all medication is supposed to be in it's original prescription box.
"When is comes down to it, what would stop asthma/allegy inhalers or any other "medicine container" from being filled with dangerous substances as well?"
Exactly.

This whole story seems "off" to me. It may be straight forward just exploring or it may be something else. As usual it's a mystery and will probably drop off the news radar screen along with all the other odd things happening.
I just wonder if they do have nukes of some kind, how would they hide them so the radiation would not be detected by us? We must have a lot of equipment here and above for that sort of detection.
That's why Mexico is the perfect CLOSE place to get a "pass" on detection because they don't have any sophisticated equipment there, or if they do they can be bought off. Is it possible to bring it across with the illegal bunch late one night to a city nearest the border and set it off?

Lol, I hope you realize I was being sarcastic when I said I just cannot imagine why..."

There are two conditions under which diabetics are likely to go into comas, and occur at opposite extremes of blood sugar levels.
The first is caused by too much insulin, and occurs when the blood sugar drops too low. That can be relieved if caught early enough by a sweetened drink or if the patient is already unconscious by an injection of a concentrated IV glucose solution such as Glucagon. This type of diabetic coma is often referred to as insulin shock, can occur quite rapidly, and once the blood sugar level is restored the patient usually regains consciousness quickly (unless too much time elapsed before the glucose was given).
The second is caused by not enough insulin, when the blood sugar levels go too high, and the patient goes into a state of ketoacidosis. This is the condition more commonly called "diabetic coma" or "diabetic ketoacidosis". Insulin is administered to reduce the blood sugar level.
It is important that diabetics know the difference between the two types of comas; administering insulin to a patient in insulin shock will make things much worse, as will giving glucose to a patient in diabetic ketoacidosis.
That's why it's so important to test the blood sugar level. One important way to distinguish between the two conditions is the presence of a "fruity" odor on the breath of a patient, which is classic for patients in diabetic ketoacidosis, but is not present in insulin shock.

I have worked in numerous settings with large groups of children and adolescents. I have NEVER seen a situation develop where more than one child became so ill he or she could not make it to the bathroom. Something is very wrong here! Absolutely and emphatically correct.

There was a similar story in Kansas City about two weeks ago.

The airlines are diverting planes around the NYC area and the Bos-Wash corridor tonight. Supposedly the corridor is 'too congested' and there are delays. Is this usual?

" I don't understand why the media isn't pressing for answers on this one."
Remember that dinner with the major media heads in Manahattan back in the fall? Bet they got a rule book and an operational sword of damocles.

No need...think missles.

I wonder if, given all the threats, emergency room doctors are alerted to suspect bioterrorism when large clusters of people come in with the same symptoms.
To: Indie
Indie- remember when the AQ postings said that by the time we learned we had been attacked with biopathogens, it would be too late.
To: WestCoastGal
Remember back to that group of people at the hotel in Philly?
And those said to be under quarantine in Las Vegas?
It seems that we never get any closure on what the illness turned out to be.

Remember that jihadi who bragged about crossing into the US from Mexico? He used some codeword like "the battery."

That was EOM, have we heard from him/it lately? Also Midhat Mursi is still at large supposedly in Mexico as well.

I never kept up with EOM. I think his messages faded out before Daleel's did.

Yes I do. As with all BIOS, by the time you know, it is too late. They are the worst of the NBC trio.

Another thing that concerns me is ex-USSR scientific help. I am referring to the potential of a bio germ/strain that is as yet, undiscovered, because it was created in a lab someplace. In other words, something uncommon that has no name, no cure, symptoms which appear to be a normal virus at first, and then re-emerge later [after apparently going away] as something terrible...not just the obvious anthrax/smallpox.
