WASHINGTON (CNN) -- This week's deadly train bombings in Spain will not lead to a rise in the U.S. color-coded terror threat alert system, a Department of Homeland Security spokesman said Friday.

"Based on the current intelligence, we have no specific indicators that terrorist groups are considering such an attack in the U.S. in the near term," said department spokesman Brian Roehrkasse.

LOL - We've been hoarding survival things for months now and everytime we go to the store we add more to the list. Petty arguments over exactly how many matches and/or lighters do we really need. My husband also mentioned the nearby springs, but the pessimist in me suggested water jugs stored anyway because we don't know if the springs will be compromised by radiation or bio-terrorism.

A attack with some sort of hemorrhagic fever would be awful beyond comprehension. I was goggling the phrase "cry blood not tears" and came across this article link from 1 year ago where Uday Hussein said the exact same phrase.

If they do a takeover, about the only recourse we'd have is to avoid the upcoming Olympics in China as a gesture of displeasure.

Have you shopped at Walmart recently? Where is most of that stuff manufactured? Who buys most of that stuff? I think we have more leverage than you think.

Barring kidnapping, rape, torture, diarrhea, ransom demands, I will return on April 6th. One out of five might not be too bad. (I'm 61 years old and still have fantasies!)

Should be an interesting trip. We will be four days in Iguazu and four days in Curitiba...checking out sawmills and wood manufacturing plants in nearby (I hope) villages. I keep reading that the whole area is a hotbed of terrorist activity and a hideout for Hamas and Al Qaeda refugees.

I just plan on going with the flow and try to enjoy airport security. The "pat downs" add a little excitement to my life.....not that I really need any.

I plan on being the FReeper "imbedded" reporter. Will post my observations upon my return.

That then raises the question, is the phrase a common threat in Arabic (or one that would reasonably arise even in the absence of a biological) or does it have a specific meaning in terms of a biological agent.

Also electronics. Radio Shack sells all Chinese made stuff. Always look a the source and look for radios, TV's etc made in JAPAN, not China. There are still many out there. All of my ham radios are Japanese or American made. Same goes for my pro-audio and recording studio equipment.

When I'm in the grocery store, I even look for Product of USA on produce and canned veges, etc.

My husband and son were just in Russia (Vladivostok) last month on business. They hated it (and they have travelled alot)...said it was the worst place they have been. Crime, corruption, lousy food and worse hotels. They even had prostitutes banging on their hotel doors in the middle of the night.....hey, at least they told me about it!! Times must be tough over there.

Is this the first time Thompson has been this specific? That we ARE going to see a BIO attack?

It seems to me that previous comments have been that it's highly likely we will see terrorist attacks, but I don't remember them being this specific regarding bio. Usually suicide bomber/bio/chem/nuke
