Threat Matrix: Daily Terror Threat - Thread 5
CNN ^ | March 12, 2004

Posted on 03/12/2004 8:23:06 PM PST by thecabal

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- This week's deadly train bombings in Spain will not lead to a rise in the U.S. color-coded terror threat alert system, a Department of Homeland Security spokesman said Friday.

"Based on the current intelligence, we have no specific indicators that terrorist groups are considering such an attack in the U.S. in the near term," said department spokesman Brian Roehrkasse.

Whatever you have it is must be very new. Even the Geeks don't seem to have it figured out yet. There is very little info out there.

Storm Warnings
Bin Laden was a threat, but Clinton never pushed it and Bush seemed more interested in Saddam. What went wrong

By Michael Isikoff and Evan Thomas
NewsweekMarch 29 issue - It was the day after 9/11, and President Bush, like many Americans, was looking for someone to bomb. Wandering into the White House Situation Room, the president pulled aside Richard Clarke, the counterterrorism chief of the national-security staff who had been held over from the Clinton years. According to Clarke, Bush asked: was Iraq responsible for the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington? Bush wanted the FBI and CIA to hunt for any evidence that pointed to Iraqi strongman Saddam Hussein. Clarke recalls that Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld was also looking for a justification to bomb Iraq. Soon after the 9/11 attacks, Rumsfeld was arguing at a cabinet meeting that Afghanistan, home of Osama bin Laden's terrorist camps, did not offer "enough good targets." "We should do Iraq," Rumsfeld urged.

" I don't own a car. I haven't had one for 6 years. I take the subway to work. I love mass transportation."

I really honestly thought that Shep was the guy who was arrested durring the Florida election fiasco. As I remember it some one was standing in a parking space to save it for someone else and keep him from getting it. Shep Just ran into her. (Or least he was acussed of doing so)Does anyone remember that? He is a very good reporter however. I'll take him over O-smiley any day.

Arafat called for a 3 day mourning period is what was reported last night on one or more cable news shows. They said nothing about a truce. They have been shooting missles back and forth and fighting all day. I have not heard anything about a truce.

I started to post that very thing...it's all I can think of when I see him on tv. But if people were judged by every dumb thing they did....

Maybe he just wasn't used to driving?

You see these people can mourn and kill all at the same time. It did not take them long to have the funeral and bury the head of Yassin, and then they were back to their killing spree if they ever stopped.

I believe you're right. Maybe the public transportation thing isn't as optional as presented...

a sample:

You may or may not know this, but all Hamas, Islamic Jihad and Fateh have all sworn revenge on Sharon. Their main goal is to kill Sharon.
Insha'Allah they succeed in doing so.

The associate of Hamas, just said on tv "this has triggered an OPEN WAR, there is no red lines"

Israel has gone too far with this ... they have to be repaid in full ... may Allah give the ummah the power to rise up to the occassion ...

This is bad, really bad, and I mean for the jews. Fateh, Hamas and Islamic Jihad have all vowed revenge. All hell has broken loose.

kill , kill, kill, and more kill --nasty kill ... no halts

and if NOTHING ELSE please realize taht killing sheikh yassin is gonna open all hell on israel. his death will cause hundreds of israeli deaths.

Or perhaps the car he was driving at the time did not belong to him.

I pray for Israel everyday. I intend to increase that quota. This is awful. God love their hearts, and He does, everything they do brings the fires of hell right at them. I've never seen such vile hatred directed toward anyone as toward the Jewish people of this World. My God.
