Don't underestimate Kerry. He wasn't "caught" with a mic, it was a well planned out scenario, aimed at the unknowing and undecided voters, and aided and abetted by the mainstream media.
My 21 year old son is very apolitical. If anything, he leans to the left a bit. Yet when we had a conversation last night about Kerry and his past and present misdeeds, he compared him as having an "anti-Christ" persona. Although I've often thought that, I'd never spoken it out loud until we had this conversation.
So he did it intentionally and targeted to Independents/swing voters and you

He set that up, and that remark made the media focus on him like a like he had just turned Lead to Gold.
