Bolton: "The UN is Not Useful in Solving Actual Problems"
John Bolton stands up against the appallingly corrupt United Nations, who passed six more resolutions condemning Israel on Thursday: Bolton Says Palestinian Resolutions Demonstrate UN Irrelevance. This Anti-Bolton video ad was produced to get people to oppose John Bolton's nomination, but instead I believe it cemented his support base. This presentation is excellent IMHO, and there are current maps of Israel and the surrounding enemy nations, and info on Jew hate; at the end of the presentation are others that are also excellent, and tell the history of the Jews and Israel, and Jew hate over the eons. link: 109 comments
Agreed. I always want to ask people who say "No blood for oil" what they would be willing to fight for.
And when you think about it, wars have been thought for far, far less important things than oil.

Remember this? (Dec.31, 2004); United States President George Bush was tonight accused of trying to undermine the United Nations... The Diplomad was posted in Indonesia at the time, and deconstructing the self-congratulatory press releases coming out of the UN as fast as they were issued. "Up until just about four or five days ago, except for the disaster tourists such as Annan and Bellamy, the UN WAS NOWHERE TO BE SEEN -- except quite overwhelmingly in Jakarta's luxury hotels, a few UNocrats in Medan, and a tiny handful at the airport in Aceh writing up press releases claiming all the credit for the UN and bad-mouthing the hard-working Aussies and Americans."
It wasn't just the UN putting on a false front. For all the video wave replays, back-patting of the "generousity of Canadians" and uncritical coverage of Paul Martin's photo op fiasco in Sri Lanka, the tsunami aid story has received precious little followup in Canadian media. It wasn't until May that we learned that only $50,000 of the $425 million pledged had actually left Ottawa.
Now, the Financial Times has released results of an investigation into how the UN vacuumed up tsunami aid dollars;
Shades of CIDA.
Of course, this is the same "media community" who have remained virtually silent on Liberal party connections to the UN Oil-For-Food scandal.
Is the silence because they simply don't know - or because they know too much?

UN Peacekeepers' Ongoing Sexual Abuse Scandal
The head of United Nations peacekeeping operations says the incidence of sexual abuse in areas supervised by his organization is ... uh ... too high.
There are still too many complaints of sexual abuse against United Nations troops, the head of peacekeeping operations has said.
Jean-Marie Guehenno said the UN had investigated 295 cases under a new reporting system introduced last year.
It could take several more years to reform the system fully, says Jordans UN envoy who last year urged changes.
The 18 peace missions worldwide employ 85,000 staff from over 100 countries, with a budget of nearly $5bn.
Mr Guehenno said although significant progress had been made in reducing the number of cases of sexual exploitation following an investigation in the Democratic Republic of Congo two years ago, much more needed to be done.
Allegations being lodged against UN peacekeeping personnel remain high and unacceptably so, he said. He noted how hard it is to change a culture of dismissiveness, long developed within ourselves, in our countries and in the mission areas.
If y'all haven't yet seen it, the movie Broken Promises covers a lot of the U.N.'s failures and disgusting behaviors.
My wife and I were the researchers for it (and for Celsius 41.11, made by many of the same folks), and hence, we can vouch---at very least---for the accuracy of the facts therein!
