Please pray for the mother of a wonderful co-worker of mine, Jackie, who is having her second open heart surgery this coming Wednesday. They are replacing a worn out pigs valve in her heart with another and she needs our prayers. She has bad reactions to anesthetics and just a few months ago underwent a hip replacement that resulted in a cardiac arrest and prolonged hospital stay.
She had memory loss with the first heart valve replacement, with the hip replacement and we hope the upcoming operation will not result in any more memory loss than absolutely unavoidable.
Her daughter's name (my co-worker) is Karen and her husband's name is Tony. They are warm lovely people. Karen is a sunny empathetic woman and I have appreciated getting to know her and her family. Thanks for your prayers.
Father God, please lay Your healing hands on Jackie. Please let this surgery be performed with NO problems. Lord we ask that there be no memory loss and no reactions to the medications. Father, please guide the physician's hands, the nurses and everyone who comes in contact with Jackie. Please give them the wisdom to know how to treat her properly.
Father, please comfort Tony, Karen, and all of the family during this time. Let this be a time of renewal and witness of what YOU can do, when we ask.
I ask this in Your Holy Name, Amen!
Freepers, please direct all prayers to wingnuts'nbolts. Thanks!

The following is from an e-mail I received today.
Subject: Explaining Heaven
What a wonderful way to explain it.......
A sick man turned to his doctor, as he was preparing to leave the examination room and said, "Doctor, I am afraid to die. Tell me what lies on the other side."
Very quietly, the doctor said, "I don't know."
"You don't know? You, a Christian man, do not know what is on the other side?"
The doctor was holding the handle of the door; on the other side of which came a sound of scratching and whining, and as he opened the door, a dog sprang into the room and leaped on him with an eager show of gladness.
Turning to the patient, the doctor said, "Did you notice my dog? He's never been in this room before. He didn't know what was inside. He knew nothing except that his master was here, and when the door opened, he
sprang in without fear. I know little of what is on the other side of death, but I do know one thing...
I know my Master is there and that is enough."
May today there be peace within you. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. "I believe that friends are quiet angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly. "
May God bless you!

Joining the Hallelujah Chorus ...
Heavenly Father, we return to give You thanks that You have touched Jackie far beyond what her surgeon expected. Thank You for Your wisdom in guiding his decisions and his hands ... may he also praise You for the talent that has come from You, and may it serve him well with many other patients.
May Jackie's recovery be unremarkable and uneventful, yet swift and sure. Go before this family as they gain in strength and health, using them in ways that glorify Your Name, for surely You are with them. In the Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen ...
