Flowers to Spanish Embassy

Okay, whoops. I shouldn't have posted links to any floral sites, it got the thread pulled! I'm sorry about that, it just didn't occur to me that was a solicitation.

Alas, I still urge everyone to show thier support for Spain in any way they like. Flowers, emails, cards are all swell ideas.

My email to the Spanish ambassador:

Mr. Ambassador:

I would like to express my deepest sympathies and offer my most heartfelt condolences for the tragedy your country has just suffered. I would like you to know that we in the broader American public support the people and government of Spain resolutely and completely in this grievous hour. The United States does not forget her allies, nor forgive the enemies who attack them.

We are willing to sustain whatever sacrifice is necessary to assist in defending your country and exacting terrible retribution on this barbarians that perpetrated this act. We have not forgotten that when we stood alone, your country volunteered to stand by our side...and did so at great peril.

Cordially,
An Average American

How about prayers?

I think He understands suffering.

I sent e-mails to several of the top spanish newspapers. A couple e-mailed back for permission to print the letters.

Basically i said that America stands with the people of Spain and that real Americans don't forget our allies.

Outstanding idea cripplecreek! I think I'm doing that next. Post your emails here if you don't mind, I'd love to see how you handled it.

There is a link to the address for the Spanish embassy in D.C. at Instapundit.com. Hugh Hewitt just read Glenn Reynolds' post from that site on the radio. I plan to send a card to the embassy letting them know how much I have appreciated their staunch support in the war on terror and how terribly sad I am by what happened today. A small gesture, but I hope that numbers alone will speak and let them know that the people of the U.S. care.

I didn't save them.

They were just very basic from the heart words of condolences and support.
