The bombs were apparently made with titadine, a form of compressed dynamite.

That's referred to as an ETA trademark: http://www.mir.es/oris/infoeta/ing/p72-eng.htm

They stole titadine in 1999: http://www.irishfrance.com/ifmagazine/ifmag_britanny2.asp?=fr

The quote about ETA is a good point. When I first heard about the attacks this morning, I immediately suspected ETA. Now, it appears that AQ are behind it. Que lastima! I hope that every one of those AQ's are killed. I lost my cousin in Beirut to those terrorists. I look forward to the day when every one of those terrorists are killed. They have shown that they do not deserve to live. I strongly support the death penalty and hope that when some of these terrorists are caught, they torture them before they die. Kerry should get a grip on reality.

There is a need for a place to post our sympathies for the people of Spain, who, on a proportional basis, have been hit with the equivalent of 9/11. Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks for posting that pic of Kerry -- very appropriate for the lowlife on a day when the Spanish suffered a terrorist attack.

It's time for the ETA to renounce violence, and commit to working within the political process to obtain more rights for the Basque minority. As the IRA has realized, in the current environment, there is no benefit to terrorist acts. Also, now that Spain is in the EU, there are all sorts of ways for the Basques to gain political rights within the EU framework.

["I think there has been an exaggeration," Mr. Kerry said when asked whether President Bush has overstated the threat of terrorism...]

Don't the Dims ever tire of being wrong?

Here's the ultimate Al Queda indicator: The March 11, 2004 Madrid bombings occurred 911 days after September 11, 2001.

Yeah - I just read where Mansoor Ijaz said that this whole incident reeks of the heathen Al Queda. Prayers out to the victims and their families. Spain - good, solid allies they've been - just had a mini-9/11 of their own

Simultaneous (or consecutive) attacks are a sign of al qaeda: the embassy bombings in Africa; 9/11;...

Adding to fears that it may have been al-Qaeda, Madrid was struck exactly two and a half years, or 911 days, after the attacks in New York and Washington.

Actually its 912 days, because of the extra day in the leap year. Not that the BBC ever bothers with being accurate...

Nope, 912 days.

2 years =2x365=730 days
9/12 to 10/11= 30
to 11/11 = 31
to 12/11 = 30
to 1/11 = 31
to 2/11 = 31
to 3/11 = 29 (leap year)

Add all that up and you get 912 days.

I would not discount an attempt by Al Queda to have done this on the 911th day. Synchronisity is a hallmark of Al Queda.

< sarcasm > Even though Islam helped develop modern expressions of mathematics, its been 500 years since they've used it. A one day error error in arithmetic is understandable under the circumstances. < /sarcasm >

we did calculations on another thread yesterday and it turned out to be 911 days, 17 hours, and 1 minute. Thus, 911 full days had passed and we were in the midst of the 912th day.

Spain is besides the Brits the most pro american Euro country in Europe.
If you lack Geography skills it's ok. They will eventually surface as our allies regardless of where they are.

Spain blames AQ for this, they know that their own did not do this.

You missed a small detail. The Hispanics and Canadians are not the problem. Beware of borders that allow the Islam in. They my friend, are here to kill us.
