We saw how the usual suspects responded to the Positive Ad.
To: NormsRevenge
Excellent.
Now that I see we are willing to fight, I will be sending more money to Pres. Bush's campaign.

The ads, part of a multimillion-dollar media campaign launched by cash-rich Bush last month, is certain to spark debate over negative campaign tactics, as well as Kerry's record on taxes and terrorism. Oh brother. This one deserves a double-bag alert. No, calling Bush a liar over and over and over again doesn't spark a controversy. But this will.
I despise contemporary "journalists."

When did criticizing a candidate's policies become negative advertising?
Oh, yeah, when Republicans do it.

Is it "negative" to point out another candidate's voting record and propensity to continue that record?
Maybe Bush should say something like:
"John Kerry will want to raise your taxes while weakening our Intelligence and Military communities...but other than that, he's a pretty jovial guy."
Think that would satisify the critics?

Kerry's plan to reduce health care costs would cost nearly $900 billion Why do savings cost us?
The presumptive Democratic nominee has vowed to roll back Bush's tax cuts for the wealthy, saving about $250 billion over 10 years by most estimates. He would keep and perhaps enhance middle-class tax cuts pushed by Bush.
So he'll reduce the deficit directly by $25 bil a year? Chickenfeed! And then he'll give some of that out again in more benefits? What retardates are falling for this???

cash-rich Bush
Yeah, right. The libiot media stikes again....President Bush's campaign finance dollars pale in comparison to the illegal mega millions being funneled into Kerry's campaign.

What I don't like is that the ads are "previewed" by the press and certain politicians, and for some MYSTERIOUS reason, get leaked to the Dims so that they are amply prepared to be outraged even before the ads air. The issue then becomes not the ad's message, but the "controversy" sparked by the ads' "negative" tones. Sort of like the leaked memos; no one is talking about their treasonous content, just how awful the Republicans are for "stealing" them when they are laying around in plain sight. Sigh.
I think I will have to join P.O.O.P. (People Offended by Offended People).

I think I get it now. Democrats exercise free speech, Republicans "go negative".

Thank goodness President Bush is fighting back. Time to start calling Kerry the dangerous, thieving liar he is. If Kerry wants to dance by calling Republicans names, bring it on, babe. We're ready.
Judging from that strange little press conference he just held, Kerry is looking more and more frazzled. He is becoming more loose-tongued as he faces real opposition for once. There's no telling what he might start saying if he really gets flustered. I say, crank up the ads and let's give him the chance to hang himself.

It's become so obvious that all of them think they are offering "balance" to what they see as the monolith of AM radio, Fox News, and the 'net. Not to mention trying to keep alive those "altruistic notions" of the 1960s. It's a big, big, job, trying to sell America something it doesn't want and has moved beyond. But they sure are trying hard.
To: alwaysconservative
You think the Bush campaign didn't anticipate the leaking? Free advertisement, my friend. The campaign undoubtedly did polling after last week's commercials and found most people thought the Dem whining was silly and/or hypocritical. I know most of my colleagues/neighbors laughed it off. :-)

If all Bushs add said was Hi Im George Bush, vote for me theyd accuse him of going negative.
To: Coop
Exactly. Today, any Democrat can accuse a Republican of abandoning children, throwing Grandma into the street, and drowning cute little kittens, with nary a peep from the Media. When a Republican fights back, he's accused of "going negative". Bleep 'em. The way to beat John Kerry is to hit him in his sanctimonious mug every day - but do it with a smile.
