Interesting that liberals would use the name, Air America -- a secret airline run by the CIA to transport guns and drugs in Southeast Asia, according to the liberals.

Funny:
The Conservatives have Rush
and the Dems have a comedian...
What does that tellya?
To: SpinyNorman
only the seminar callers for this liberal show should say
something like
"I voted for the Clintons and agree with 99% of what you said--But-- I FEEL unsettled and sink into depression when I hear our soon to be President Kerry being so in termperant and insentitive in his worst liar and cheats remarks. Can't we give everyone a second chance? Do we have to call them liars and cheats? Won't that stimatize them? It make me very sad too because I know the environemnt of Washington, DC make them do it. Can't our next president acknowledge that DC is the reason not the R behind the name. I feel so bad and sad. Make me laugh Al, I am begging you. Where's the comedy. Can you at least tackle somebody for me." I would enjoy that.

an all-star cast that includes Janeane Garofalo (The Larry Sanders Show Starring Gary Shandling, The Truth About Dogs and Cats) and Rap star Chuck D.... This is an "all-star cast"? I see the humor has started already. Interesting, too, to note that for the most part, conservative commentators didn't have to trade on pre-existing Hollywood "fame" to gain their following.
To: SolutionsOnly
I'm looking at the bright side. Maybe the seminar callers will now leave conservative shows alone for at least as long as this liberal show lasts........

Oops. Make that, "hope to have enough start-up money for two years".
"Mark Walsh, the CEO of Progress Media Inc., the company backing the network, said they have yet to sign any firm deals with advertisers but that several nonprofit organizations and progressive groups have promised to advertise."
"Walsh said the company hoped to raise "upward of $30 million" by the time the network goes live, which would allow them to operate for about two years before turning a profit. He declined to say how much they had raised so far."

Yes, kind of what I was hinting at.

Noticed they plan satellite services to home and car. Last time I looked Rush for example was not on satellite radio. Main reason I wasn't interested in it - but what the libs want re the media they always get, don't they?

Conservative talk radio isn't built with the premise to ~bash~.I know. My favorite part of talk radio is when they make fun of leftists. What kind of jokes will Franken tell about Bush that we haven't heard 1000 times before?
To: Rays_Dad
I'm starting the official FREEREPUBLIC office pool - the radio station will be off the air by 01 March 05.I've got 31 Dec 04 as its last day on air.
Actually, if I wanted to be cynical -- but honest -- I'd say 03 Nov 04.

Those cities already have Pacifica Radio. Rush has said many times that the old ABC talknet just didn't work because stations had to commit to 3-4 shows.
If they had some genuine talent. Someone light and funny, they could survive. But they don't actually want to build an audience. They want an echo chamber. A "Three Hours' Hate," to paraphrase Orwell.

I sent an email suggesting as Satellite presense to Rush and Laura Ingraham. Of course, I recieved no response from either. A couple monthes later , Rush still isn't there, but Laura is now on XM. And I prefer Laura over Rush anayways, so I'm happy.
I don't know the economics of it - there's got to be some listenership cannibalism as satellite is better in reception - and the breaks are filled with interesting stuff instead of really, really dumb commercials. Rush is on so many local stations that there may be a problem with his established broadcasting base.

1. The $20 mill, or so, theyr'e wasting on this is money that could have gone to Dem election campaingns....no one will ever listen to this...
2. The first day, Garolfalo will say the "f" word about 6 times, IMHO..and get fined, and pulled off the air....
The folks who are gonna call in to these shows are all DU'er.s.....gonna be a zooooooooo
