March 11, 2004 -- I had to laugh when I read about John Kerry's boast that unnamed "foreign leaders" were whispering words of encouragement in his ear ("World 'Leaders' Praying I'll Win: Kerry," March 9).

I sure hope they aren't the same despotic tyrants who were able to obtain sensitive defense information from the United States while illegally contributing political campaign money, with virtually no one being held accountable.

Please tell this to the FReepers who are voting Kerry, 3rd party or sitting it out. I realize only 3k people participated in the present FR poll on the election, but I am aghast that anyone is voting other than GWB, given the choice and the stakes.

OTOH, I am encouraged by the various LTE that have been reprinted here on FR. It gives me hope that the American people will turn out in droves for GWB, despite the media.
