She takes this tack from time to time in what I assume is an attempt to appear open minded -- not toooo 'publican, to keep the borderline dems interested and maybe get them converted.

She's right, where are the republicans. We got some good guys who have humor and wit, they need to be out there. We need people who are excited about the way Iraq is coming into the world and how the economy is picking up.
We need Chao on every cable network batting down the charge that (I think Kerry has it up to 3 million jobs)jobs have been lost.
I notice Powell came out this week swinging, he was great and we should see more of him, and where is Condi?

Previously, Peggy has stated a preference for having two strong parties, to provide real competition and real debate over issues.

Yes, I'm also a big fan of hers, but lately Noonan's off her feed. This piece, with its limp reaction to Kerry's vicious comments, sounds positively medicated.

John Kerry is savaging GWBush with vicious comments. Kerry is playing the role of the guerilla terrorist fighting an entrenched régime. Trying to tear down George Bush's image as a steadfast leader in wartime...... as a competent leader against terrorists. Kerry's campaign is spitting fire, going better than GW's right now.
This presidential campaign is war and how it's waged will reflect on how well GWBush can run a war on terror. Right now John Kerry is firing RPGs at the Bush campaign vehicle while Bush tries to be presidential and above the fray

Peggy Noonan helping Sen. Kerry?
She seems to be baiting him to take an unequivocal stand against the liberation of Iraq. Would that help him in the general election?
Sen. Kerry's equivocation and double-talk is the only thing that's kept him afloat this long. If he began enunciating clearly where he really stands, he'd be immensely popular with left-wing nuts, and he'd be crushed in the general election. Not even the press could save him.

Noonan's column has been a turn-off for the last few times. This one is somewhat better.

What would wake things up for Mr. Kerry and make him seem stronger? If he defied his media training and answered the question......Peggy, he's a liberal.
A liberal simply cannot answer questions in a direct manner because it would serve to expose beliefs which by necessity must be obscured.

For the past year, the Democrap gaggle of wannabes has polluted the media, both broadcast and print. It really is similar to a football game: the Democraps have been on the field (they have nothing else to do, except Kerry who gets to keep his taxpayer salary while missing most of the Senate votes), they have scored many touchdowns, kicked many field goals and their MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE has not been sacked.
Now there it some activity at the entrance to the field. What can that be? It looks like the opposing team is just arriving! Stay tuned.

Not only is she exactly right when she says that he is like Stack's character, complete with staged bravado-baritone, but she is right when she says that Bush will win if he gets the nation to laugh at Kerry.
The Stack thing is a way towards it.
That's what we, the VRWC, should help make happen.

Mr. Kerry will get better as the campaign wears down his self-consciousness and makes him too tired to act.Don't think so ... Kerry tends to make gaffs when he's tired. Kerry can't be himself ... he doesn't have any self to be ... he's been a U.S. senator to long and he's Bob Kerry.
