WASHINGTON - A group of gay Republicans who supported President Bush (news - web sites) in 2000 will air a television ad opposing a Bush-backed Constitutional amendment that would prohibit gays from marrying.
The 30-second spot by the Log Cabin Republicans shows Vice President Dick Cheney (news - web sites) at a debate four years ago saying, "People should be free to enter into any kind of relationship they want to enter into." The ad begins Thursday in several states.
The vice president also says: "I don't think there should necessarily be a federal policy in this area." The words "We agree" then flash on the screen.
Cheney's daughter, Mary, is gay.
Last month, Bush called for quick election-year enactment of the amendment following a Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruling in November that it is unconstitutional to bar gay couples from marriage. Since the ruling, several cities and mayors have been conducting gay marriages in defiance of local and state laws.
The Log Cabin Republicans' $1 million effort to defeat the amendment includes lobbying, grass-roots mobilization and print advertisements with the TV ads, which will run in Washington, D.C., Ohio, Missouri, Florida, Minnesota, New Mexico, New Hampshire, and Wisconsin.

How dare these perverts try to call themselves "Republican" so they can be a mole withing the party. I'm sure they giggle whenever they hear "log cabin."
E-mail them here to tell them to get out of the party--or stop pretending--and that nobody's begging for their vote.

On their site you can view the ad. They also say,
The number of times this advertisement is broadcast depends completely on how much support we receive. We need your help to defend the Constitution. The success of our effort depends on your financial support! Donate Today
I'm sure all kinds of liberals and Demoncrats will be eager to donate to this.

Perfect example of the inherent "confusion" that all gays manifest.
All homosexuals, either male or female, have "profound confusion", as one would expect in a person who cannot sort out if they are a male or a female.
They call themselves Republicans even though a "Republican" is a person who believes that Homosexula behavior is wrong.
So, they demonstrate, yet again, that they wish for "approval" for their indulgences in amoral and hedonistic (attavistic) behaviors.
The sooner these folks depart from the scene, the better. I don't care who they vote for. They may register a vote, but chances are pretty good whoever they vote for the vote will be negated by the drunk guy down the street who can't function well enough to use the voting machine correctly.

I wonder if they will admit in the ad their gayness.
I welcome this ad and want Americans to know that as a Republican I dont support the gay agenda.

We need to thank these "Republicans."
Log Cabin is launching a protest in swing states that are key to Bush's reelection bid, including Missouri, New Hampshire, New Mexico, and Ohio. Thanks, "Republicans," for targetting swing states so Bush can lose them.

Well at least the money the Dems donate to this won't be available for other attacks they want to make on Republicans.
OTOH the Dems probably have plans and soft monies to support all single-issue "Republicans" with any campaigns they care to conduct against Bush. It's just what the Dems' media love to publicize so the money will get much more exposure per dollar.

State GOP organizations need to start yanking their charges and kicking themout of our conventions.
We darn well better not see any delegates from their ranks at the national convention.

The amendment also prohibits polygamy. These are not and were never republicans.
To: GulliverSwift
The vice president also says: "I don't think there should necessarily be a federal policy in this area." The words "We agree" then flash on the screen. Including a pro-homosexual-marriage policy? Somehow, I don't think they're for that. Hypocrites.

Does the proposed amendment actually "ban" gay marriage, or does it simply stipulate that gay marriage is not a right implicit in any provision of the U.S. Constitution, or in existing state constitutions? The version that I saw was not a ban, simply an attempt to prevent courts from asserting gay marriage is a constitutional right.

They're not "Republicans". They're Regressive infiltrators, same as DU trolls, and their only motive is to try and de-ligitimize the Party. You can bet with confidence they vote for the Demo
craps when the curtains are pulled.
To them I say Outta here!

A friend was telling me last week about a surprising conversation she had with a lesbian couple.
One of the partners served in the Navy and they are both extremely upset by the distraction of the gay marriage issue, because they know the war on terror trumps any other social issue.
My friend was really surprised at their genuine support for President Bush. I wonder how many will vote for him in private, who don't dare say so publicly.
