[history]
For years, Georgia has raised money for wildlife protection by selling custom license plates with wildlife scenes. Sales skyrocketed this year for new tags featuring the bald eagle and the American flag.
But some environmentalists say they do not want to contribute to the state's wildlife protection fund through a flag-waving symbol they believe will be seen as being linked to President Bush.

Environmentalists will not support wildlife protection if it is associated with the American flag. Yep. That says it all. But, don't DARE question their patriotism!!!!
To: ZGuy
Wow, environmentalists admit that to support America is to support Bush. That means that anyone who hates the flag is a Kerry supporter is what they're implying? Amazing that they don't even try to hide their anti-America feelings anymore.

Mr. Moody doesn't understand that environmentalism and patriotism are not mutually exclusive.

Not so much nit-picking as a fundamental leftist position inherent in the environmentalist movement. Environmentalism is just another tool of the lefty to be used in their goal of weakening America. Naturally they are offended by the flag and all things American. Good to see them all bunched up because a flag design is motivating record sales.

Personally I've never understood why states need 40 or 50 plate designs. It's just a tax sticker not a billboard. Because people pay EXTRA for the designer plates. Remember, it's ALWAYS about the money...

The state has an ugly design for the free one (such as Florida), so people want to buy the vanity ones.
"the free one", BAAAAA HA HA, it must be nice to live in Florida. We have to get new plates or stickers every year, and it sure as hell aint free.

It's not the land they detest, it's the people.
They hate us all. And "hate" is not too strong a word. If they get this bent out of shape over an innocuous license plate, you know for certain that raw hatred is all that they hold for the people they think the plate represents.
Maybe there was a time when liberals loved their country....I don't know. But now it's all about hating it and the people who live here.

In Georgia, you to not have to take the eagle and flag support wildlife plate. If you want a support wildlife tag, they have three different ones available. This flap is just another dumbocrat slap at President Bush. By the way, I hear they are having such a hard time finding something more they can smear the president with that they are searching for a picture of him kissing a baby so they can accuse him of being a child molester.

"Environmentalist are showing their true allegiance and dedication to their core beliefs. "
I talked to one honest enviro-type communist. He said it's literally just a cover for the destruction of capitalist, in a possibly drunk moment of truth that snuck out.

40 or 50? Where ya been, son? Missouri has upwards of 400 different vanity (er, pardon me, ''specialty'') plates, lots of which are of the PC touchy-feely variety. Maybe even over 500 by now -- the G.A. just passed a whole flock more last May. You wouldn't BELIEVE some of the categories.

Let's compromise with Environmental Wacko's:
Let the bald eagle and Old Glory together represent President Bush
Let the buzzard and a condom together represent JFKerry!

Each plate makes money for a particular cause. Besides some are rather nice.
Most states just require you show a set number of interested parties. Imagine a 2nd amendment plate?
